You're taking it the wrong way. There are a lot of jobs people get that they are not ready for but the many persevere, many don't. It would be interesting to look at the statistics (Chatt where are you?) of the success/failure rate of first time head coaches. I bet statistically they fail more than they succeed but that's just a guess on my part. Not being ready for a job doesn't guarantee failure. I just have a total different connotation to that phrase than some of you do.Probably not ready for the job doesn’t exude confidence. Not saying you should say he’s going to kill it. Your statement implies he should fail and is negative regardless how you want to slice it. I can’t say probably fail or succeed. That is wait and see. You may be waiting to see but you think it’s more likely he will fail. I tend to think with God’s help, I can overcome adversity and tend to be optimistic with teams I follow but try to stay in reality. I know he might fail but expect him to succeed till he doesn’t.
Very good point! Good post!RBs - 1 combined start
OL - C and LG never started a game in college and LT barely practiced
TEs - 0 starts
DL - 1 guy making first start
LB - Kirkland first game in 20 month s I believe VQ said
DBs - 3 true freshman playing heavy snaps or starting.
When I take the names out that I associate with recruiting stars and hype/potential. I don't really know why I was so confident.

Oh I agree, I just think if they played a real defense theyd get destroyed. Fortunately for them they dont besides those two teams who will light them up.
But there are positions who are more expendable and dependent than others. Case and point with corner. New England or Philadelphia didn’t have a single good corner on either team.Every single position is important on a football team.

Interesting thread. Stephen White is pretty respected in the college football analyst game

Corners leave teams with great pass rushes all the time and then they turn out to be lesser of players. Revis with the bucs, Byron maxwell leaving Seattle, josh Norman leaving Carolina etc.
Philly was tied for 4th in interceptions last year. You certainly don’t have to have an elite corner but still have to have some who are in position to make plays on the ball.
Betting he didn’t like some of the dancing that cost Jordan some yards.I finally got to watch that show, and I noticed our head coach didn't seem as impressed with Jordan as I was. Interesting article.
One big reason why Tennessee Vols fans should feel good about Jeremy Pruitt
Jalen mills was a 7th round pick and had one of the worst QB %s when thrown at. Patrick Robinson was cut by the colts. That whole defense their passrush. Darby was bad with buffalo. Trust me their corners were not good.
But why did he miss them? I have seen media say he missed 2 throws and we got lucky. But did we? When I rewatched the game, he overthrew the running back because kongbo was pushing an OL into Griers spot forcing him to go backwards and throw quicker than he wanted to. That's the affecting a QB without hitting him Pruitt mentioned.
We weren't nearly as bad as score indicates or how I felt watching live with some brews in me.
Pro Football Focus named Darby Defensive Rookie of the year 3 years ago. It’s why they traded Jordan Matthews and a third round pick.
Again, not saying they were elite, but you still have to have guys who are in position to hold their own and make plays.
Just a word of advice don’t ever go by PFF for rating or award. They are awful. Stats they are ok. Jordan Mathews has sense been cut twice too.
There you go jumping off that cliff again. Generalizations and exaggerations? you're the king of generalizations and exaggerations. You take one phrase that you took wrong and blew up into I'm one of your neggatron arch enemies. You’re generalizing and exaggerating...quite the double threat. Keeper of the Sunshine is a pretty good line. Best of luck in your new self hating defeatist persona.
