Just read where he is running on a plan to raise the corporate tax rate 40%.

What does the dog whistling do? Why do racists and white supremacists need secret words to remind them to hate black people?
It's not intended to remind them to hate black people; you're right, they need no reminders. It's intended solely as a way to help them secretly identify kindred spirits, kind of like a secret handshake. And of course they want plausible deniability.

Dog Whistle Politics

I mean the name alone should have sparked your hamster to start jogging.

If after reading that and still don't understand, let me know.
I understand it is a way that political opponents can accuse each other of nefarious attributes using a special language, at least that's the "dog whistle" I heard by reading the article you posted. I personally don't listen to politicians speak so I'm not in the know on the code.

So basically, you think he went on national TV and acted as a racist Third Base Coach telling white people to swing away.

Do a few searches for the definition of "monkey up." This is the only one I found (from the dictionary of computing of all places): monkey up | Definition of monkey up by Webster's Online Dictionary. Obviously not applicable here.

Plenty of ways to say mess something up. Yet running against a black candidate he chose to use --and quite obviously so -- a phrase that includes "monkey" and which doesn't even exist in common parlance. Sorry, but this is not a stretch to say he was dog whistling with this.
So, your logic is that since there is no definition for the phrase, you know exactly what he meant by it. Sounds counterintuitive.

You guys keep tripling down on identity politics and watch middle America reject you even more soundly in November.

Race and Ethnicity#1
Percentage of the total population.
Scope: population of the United States and Florida

Florida

Not enough blacks in FL to carry him.

You're right, I'll stop. I just keep on honkying this thing up.

I don't know about that, but Gillum certainly was a "dark" horse to win the primary. Wink, wink to all Republicans out there.

Especially if all the white people are secretly racist and just need the super secret code phrase to convince us to come out about it.

I don't know what just happened, but I just had an intense ringing in my ears, coupled with the uncontrollable urge to hold minorities down and get twin lightning bolt tattoos

Odd.

Aren’t all white male Republicans racists? Why does he need to go on tv to secretly tell people what they already know?

And the more the MSM and lefties cry wolf to try and get the rest of the country to raise some kind of outrage, ANY KIND, the more we become insulated from their shrieking and just ignore them more...

I'm glad I wandered into this thread. Apparently I've been living under a rock and didn't know the current top secret codes.
I find it fascinating. Trump is an overt racist, his supporters are overt racists, the balance of republicans are overt racists, yet all of them find it necessary to send each other secret racist code words through the media lest anyone find out.

I have a hard time believing a guy who attended Harvard and Yale and who was a former naval prosecutor would so recklessly choose his words. There's dozens of ways to characterize his phrase and yet he chose that way. I guess, I'm one of the crazy ones, too.
