As much as I'm hoping we beat WVU, to think we're gonna crush a team with the likely lead Heisman candidate and an all american WR is irrational. Even if their defense is weak, can we beat them in a shootout? It's gonna take one hell of a performance from a lot of unproven dudes to beat WVU on a neutral field.

I just don't want to hear any "Pruitt's not the guy" BS on Sunday if we lose to WVU. Overhyping before the games leads to unmet expectations that are probably unfair.
I'm not really disagreeing with what you are saying, but Memphis probably didn't think they could beat Peyton Manning and Joey Kent back in 1996, either.

For the record, I said it when the hire was announced. I just don't want to be confused with the reactionaries when I drop by for a bit of nose rubbing.

Okay, not being a smart arse or dumb arse, but why does everyone think we are going to lose to SC? Is it game placement (coming off murder row and away)? I simply HATE Muschump!

Purely because of schedule placement to me. If they were at the front of that row of games instead of UF, I think we beat tha azz soundly. If it was a couple of weeks later, I think we would beat them. I think it is a tough game after what is probably going to be three games of hell.

I'm not saying there is 0% chance. I'm saying this to dudes in here that are saying we are going to cream them. Almost any national sports writer along with Vegas and gambling experts think WVU wins. Now I think the spread is a debatable thing, but you're fooling yourself if you don't think we're behind the 8 ball on this one.

I don't recall anyone saying we're going to cream WVU. This game is more of a toss-up than the media is espousing, with each team having clear advantages and the ability to execute a different game plan. One team will be more successful at making the other team play their game-- and really, it could be either team.

I have all but written off Cox from being apart of this class. That puts the current class at 19. This board is convinced 22 is the number, however Callahan, who probably knows more about UT Recruiting than anyone not a part of UT's staff, says Pruitt will find a way to take 25. I am going to assume the conservative middle ground and say we can sign 23 prospects in 2019. Assuming by some chance (not going to happen) remainder of the class stays the same, we have 4 spots remaining.

At this point, it is a safe bet to add Hill to the class, making our 20th commit. That will solidify our secondary for 2019. With Bush out of the picture, we are not recruiting any other DB's to my knowledge, unless someone flicks a cigarette into the giant half couch half diesel filled dumper called LSU and we can somehow nap Hampton.

I think we sign atleast one more linebacker. The staff may be throwing the Hail Mary here and hoping at least one of Crouch, To'oto'o, or Bogle (he may be a DE) jumps on board.

The final two or three (if we whiff on our LB) I think are Best Player Available spots. That list of players would be Wright (OT), Crouch (RB/LB), To'oto'o (LB), Bogle (LB/DE), Charles Moore (DE), Taulia (QB), Maurice Hampton (DB), Curry (WR), Anderson (DE), Payton (WR), Knox (WR), Pettway (LB), etc...

You guys might find this spreadsheet interesting... The ratings may not all be up to date. And yes I do know how to format on excel however this thing is constantly changing and correctly the formatting every time I make a change is a pain.
Posted this in the who gets cut thread, but I know nobody reads those threads so I am posting it here too.

Could you be a little more clearer, I am a little confused?

JK---- I agree, I think we are gonna be so hyped with the new season, new staff, new culture-- we gon come out and play lights out until the whistle... AND, Pruitt will not take his foot off the pedal if we are winning...

To take a full 25, we can add grad transfers after NSD. And it seems likely we will. We're still in on quite a few guys that would be a take over some of the current commits, so it's almost inevitable that the class will get reshuffled. And that could happen right up till NSD, since some of the top targets may not announce until then.

After last year I'm not sure what to believe. I hope that with real coaching our guys play at a high level but for the last 10 years I've gotten my hopes up only to have them dashed again and again. Since my BVS is coming out in the open I hope that means it will reverse the course of the season for us. I want my kids to experience what I felt as a teenager through the 90's when you expected to win and knew we were a powerhouse.

10 Days!

Feel good enough to post my depth chart prediction for WVU.

QB- JG
RB- Chandler/Jordan/London
FB- Blakely
WR- Calloway/Jennings
SWR- Johnson/Murphy
TE- DWA/Wolfe
LT- Richmond
LG- Smith
C- Kennedy
RG- R. Johnson
RT- J. Johnson.
Those tackles make me nervous
