Alabama has an all world defense and an All world OL every dang year..

We have neither. We are going to have to take chances, and be creative to score enough points, and run enough clock to support the defense.
It's almost like you think the coaches haven't realized that yet or something. You don't know doo doo about doo doo. Sit back and relax papaw, it'll be fine in the long run.

I'll take that kinda defense with an aggressive offense. People have concerns about our defense this year so we may need an aggressive offense that can go win a game or 2. It's hard to win with just defense if you don't have a really good defense. Maybe we do, but I bet we need our offense to win some games for us this year by doing more than just game managing.

That is exactly what I'm trying to say.

We only have to win enough games with this style of play to beat 6 to 7 teams and make a bowl so Pruitt can show imorovement and get a really good class next year. Personally I think we can win 8 and make a bowl.

It's not about winning it all this year, just showing a different mindset and improve overall. Show progress.

LOL, JT is not intimidated by anyone. He and Spieth grew up idolizing Woods, like you apparently did, but that doesn't mean that they don't try and beat his brains out on the golf course.

What I saw yesterday was that JT was trying to keep up with Koepka and Scott, not Woods, and lost his putting stroke at the wrong time. It happens to all of us. It's what makes golf such an exhilarating and frustrating game at times.

As I’ve already said, Woods is not my idol. Matter of fact, he’s the same age as me. Since he’s the same age as me, I think that’s why I latched onto following him so much as he came up through the amateurs and then dominated the PGA. It was cool to have someone my age being the best or one of the best the game has ever seen. Go watch JT’s interview shortly after he finished...he looked a little shell shocked to me.

Ok...whatever. I was pissed that they bent over for Vandy like that. They gave freakin LSU a better game than Vandy. It still sticks in my craw. I shouldnt have put it like that, but still there were a lot of guys who quit. I guess the why of it, is more understandable to me now, but it is still true that a LOT of the players, if not most of them, just flat out quit.

They have proven to me that they do have fight in them because almost all of them stayed to try and turn it around. I applaud them for that

Leadership starts at he top. I think Butch checked out after the Florida game and the team followed him.

Some of you guys are turning "positive," "back to championship level play," "unbelievable final round at a major" commentary into it being personal. Not sure that OG "idolizes" Tiger Woods. He has been commenting about how he has finally gotten back to high level golf, and if he continues, he will win again. It's fun to watch and apparently many others thought so as well, based on the numbers.

I am going to say it again- many questioned if Tiger could ever be in that position yesterday.
Thank you!! Many questioned, as did Tiger, if he would ever even play again. That’s what made yesterday even more fun to watch.

Fwiw (and it ain't much), it sounds like Pruitt and Helton know that this season hinges on who makes the least amount of mistakes at QB. If we don't have the ability to be explosive on offense, especially in the passing game, then you can't have turnovers and make mistakes, ie holding the ball too long or taking sacks. If JG can't get past that for whatever reason, regardless of arm talent, then it's gonna be Chryst that starts.

Playing ball control football has to be mistake free as possible. Dink an dunk, run the ball, and a play action down the field to keep the D honest every now and then.

It's not about who has the most talented arm, it's about who processes correctly what's going on during the play and makes the right decision.

Extremely well-grounded statement. We don’t have the margin to overcome QB mistakes.

While JG doesn’t throw a lot of high risk passes the sacks he takes Osborne almost as detrimental. Since we don’t have burners on the outside it wouldn’t surprise me to see KC win the job.

Why are we even thinking and talking about ANYTHING from the last 10 yrs, like how we played against Vandy and LSU last year? I'll admit, I'm as guilty of it as anyone; just the other day, I was debating Dooley or Butch, which was the worst.
We have to, in the words of Don Draper, move forward. We do an injustice to Jeremy Pruitt whenever we look back, and let it slip into our minds the thought, 'the way they've been, is the way they're going to be', if that makes any sense. I understand why we do it, for most of us, it's our nature. In reality, Derek Dooley and Butch Jones shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence, paragraph, story as Jeremy Pruitt; the moment he was hired, all thoughts of the last decade should have evaporated...however, and again, I understand, they didn't for a lot of us.
What is happening now on Rocky Top is so beyond the realm of what we witnessed with Dooley and Butch; the installation of being a champion, of taking it to the highest level every single day, from the QB to the secretaries in the football office.

Murphy making plays is big, looks like he’s gonna have a solid year.

Jordan making explosive plays in the run game is exciting and unexpected.

Taylor is gonna start at CB day 1 and Thompson looks to be a playmaker back there. Gonna be growing pains but great news on the new DBs.

The QB's won't be asked to do much in this offense. This will be a ground controlled offense with an occasional over the top bomb to keep the defense honest. The QB that makes the fewest mistakes will win the job.

I said this a lot coming out of the closed door Spring scrimmages, but it seems some people don’t wish to accept that.

I agree. We're just so used to having the ugliest girl at the dance. We've forgotten what it's like to date a 10

If we do start 2-6, ouch. The games against WVU and UF are both projected as very close. I think we at least split and could win both with a couple of breaks that we make for ourselves.

I like him and Bartoo a lot, but I really wonder about their methodology. There’s a lot of corrrelated variables and value judgements in there.

Well, we're either going to be good and win some games or we're going to go the opposite direction and lose some games. Boom.
