Justin Thomas talked about it on camera, and his reaction when asked, as well as what he did on the course, made it seem like he was affected.
The QB's won't be asked to do much in this offense. This will be a ground controlled offense with an occasional over the top bomb to keep the defense honest. The QB that makes the fewest mistakes will win the job.
yeah, they all know which holes are birdie holes, and they know BK could get there. and that 17 could be an eagle opp for BK. kinda puts the pressure on when you're w/in a stroke or two, but a couple holes ahead. makes you do things you maybe wouldn't otherwise.....probably at least part of the reason you saw some guys get squirly off the tee late in the round.LOL, JT is not intimidated by anyone. He and Spieth grew up idolizing Woods, like you apparently did, but that doesn't mean that they don't try and beat his brains out on the golf course.
What I saw yesterday was that JT was trying to keep up with Koepka and Scott, not Woods, and lost his putting stroke at the wrong time. It happens to all of us. It's what makes golf such an exhilarating and frustrating game at times.
That would be far more conservative than any of the assistants Pruitt hired are used to running. Based on the money spent on guys with a background of high powered aggressive offense I doubt we will be as conservative as most are thinking. The QB's won't be asked to do much in this offense. Ha, okay guy. I watch a lot of golf and not just Tiger. The rest of yer statement is laughable. Makes it seem like you don't actually know what you are talking about. This isn't golden tee. Show me another golfer in history who has missed the fairway on the front nine of the final round of a major, or any other PGA tournament, and shot a 64. There are very few examples of scramble golf that even come close to that. And it was the final round of a major. If you don't like Tiger that's fine. But don't act like that wasn't amazing. Hitting the fairway isn't important anymore? hahahahahahahahaha. That's worse than a Hank bball take.

they're pretty good at both. and really, they hit 5 iron 200 yards, so there's not a ton of those being hit except on the long par 3's and the 530ish yard par 5's. they're hitting 7 iron in from 180....lol. i hit a 3 wood or hybrid and pray. They are better at hitting wedges from the rough than 5 irons from the fairways.
One guy who we haven't talked about a ton — mainly because we don't see much of anything from the RBs at practice — who had a strong scrimmage Sunday was grad transfer tailback Madre London. He got some run with the 1s. Still sounds like Jordan (who had a couple explosive plays including a long TD) and Chandler will get the bulk of carries, but London has at least positioned himself for a few looks (maybe short-yardage or red zone).
I hope so, but I think your defintion of "just fine" and mine are probably a lot different...lol.It can't possibly be worse. You've basically got the team drinking Jonestown Kool-Aid at the fifty yard line at halftime during the WV game.
We are gonna be just fine this year, it regardless of who is taking the snaps.

Helton's comments have been consistent since spring. He's looking for a game manager who'll take care of the football and move the ball down the field. He wants to be aggressive running the ball and mix it up with explosive plays. Steady and unemotional, a good decisionmaker who doesn't turn the ball over-- that's the job description.
Some of you guys are turning "positive," "back to championship level play," "unbelievable final round at a major" commentary into it being personal. Not sure that OG "idolizes" Tiger Woods. He has been commenting about how he has finally gotten back to high level golf, and if he continues, he will win again. It's fun to watch and apparently many others thought so as well, based on the numbers.
I am going to say it again- many questioned if Tiger could ever be in that position yesterday.
What they've said is exactly what I would expect them to say. Personally I don't think that's in their nature. Maybe yer right about easing into the season, but nobody on the offensive staff has a history of conservative offensive schemes. What they've said is more conservative than you'd think. But they're tailoring the offense to the personnel, and I'm not sure they trust any of the QBs to throw it downfield right now. And the receivers have been inconsistent. Sounds like we could start the season conservatively, then open it up as the QB(s) and receivers become more reliable and earn their trust.
Everyone always says limit mistakes like jg is the only one who makes them. Skipping passes to wide open receivers is a mistake. Not being able to capitalize on a deep ball is a mistake. A lot of people act like chryst plays mistake free when he doesn't. Otherwise he'd still be at Stanford.Fwiw (and it ain't much), it sounds like Pruitt and Helton know that this season hinges on who makes the least amount of mistakes at QB. If we don't have the ability to be explosive on offense, especially in the passing game, then you can't have turnovers and make mistakes, ie holding the ball too long or taking sacks. If JG can't get past that for whatever reason, regardless of arm talent, then it's gonna be Chryst that starts.
Playing ball control football has to be mistake free as possible. Dink an dunk, run the ball, and a play action down the field to keep the D honest every now and then.
It's not about who has the most talented arm, it's about who processes correctly what's going on during the play and makes the right decision.
