Hue making Calloway play the whole game as his punishment might be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard lol

No wonder he’s 1-31

Yep - when I saw that I immediately moved it up on the "Stupid Things People Say" list. Then I thought I might have to move it to the "Worst Deflections" list, but wasn't sure if it belonged on the "Worst Rationalizations" list.

One list I know it belongs on though is the "What Would Urban Do/Say (WWUD/S)" list.

Not solid stuff. That whole clip involved Butch Jones and a loss to the dawgs. That sucked.
Then you werent listening. I dont care about the result of the game. that's petty. I was at that game. it was entertaining which is what this is all about. entertainment. take a lap.

So irrational. Smh
Why is that irrational? That blows my mind that so many of you don't get it. I hope I am wrong, but it is not irrational for me to believe that without a real QB threat this offense is going to a pain to watch.

One dimensional offenses that do that one dimension really well, still get stuffed by any defense worth a dang, and struggle against even below average defenses when they only are average at that one dimension. If KC was a real threat, he would still he at Stanford. The guys he got beat out by are not great QBs either.

I am not being irrational. You may not like to hear it, but it doesn't mean I am not right. I hope I am wrong, but it's not looking good to me.

Hmmm, weird how a lot of golf analysts say guys like Tiger, Rory, and Jason Day may be too thick and bulky for golf. I get what yer saying but the guys yer listing other than Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler are all workout warriors like Tiger. They're not as tall as DJ, but they aren't small guys. I went to a tournament a couple years ago and that was the most surprising thing to me. These guys all are starting to get built like Tiger was back in the day.

We are probably talking 2 different concepts. McIlroy is small in stature, and that isn't changing. Even by gaining muscle mass, he isn't getting to 180 pounds.

Trey Mullinax, Tony Finau, Luke List, Dustin Johnson, and Bubba Watson are all in the top 10 and are all 6'2"+. Mullinax, Finau, and DJ are 6'4". Koepka is a tank.

Tiger is averaging more in distance this year than he did at any point between 2000 and 2004 during his height of success. It's not a huge difference (at most about 9 yards). However, he is 42 now and not 24 or 28. The ball and the club head have alot to do with some of these distances.

Me after actually reading the last 10 pages or so of this thread...

And that may be the case. You have to see what you have in both guys in close to as real game scenario as you can.

What worries me if we’re seeing and hearing negative reports from yesterday about holding the ball too long, composure/body language (things he struggled with last year) and turnovers. It’s just one scrimmage but it gives me cause for concern.

I may differ in this opinion but i value what happens in a closed scrimmage over anything in a weekly practice individually. There’s a reason coaches close It and want to make it as gamelike as possible, especially for QBs. A lot of drills and skeleton work will simply favor the qb that has better arm talent but not the better QB. So when the “lights came on” it seemed that they may have valued KCs poise and experience more (my opinion) by giving him the bulk and JG reverted back to some of his old ways. That’s really all we have to go by until the next scrimmage really
If he's out here still holding onto the ball too long and showing bad body language, put his rear end on the pine. I want the guy who's going to manage the game.

You don't care whether we win or lose as long as it's entertaining? What's the matter with you? If Tennessee don't get the dub I'm pissed.

One thing they mentioned on the midday show in Nashville a few minutes ago, and something I've been at least a little concerned with in the past, is how Pruitt will handle himself on the sideline and in the media when crap hits the fan and this team lays down in a game or two this year. I can see him having a little Florida Muschamp in him and looking like he's going to eat one of his coaches or players at times. He's got a quick fuse, and that's alright sometimes, but I think he'll need to tame that a little bit as a head coach.

Speaking of fuses and tolerance, I might have missed it, but was response to the urban fiasco?

Heard that too. I think he’s far and away more mature and collected than Muschamp.

I think the irrational thing is nothing has been decided yet, you are just getting worked up over one report that KC got more reps and assume that means we're gonna suck. I agree with yer concerns. I don't agree with yer assumptions that all of that has been decided just because in Hank's opinion KC had one better practice than JG and that means it's over.

it's irrational to take that stance after 1 closed scrimmage where we may only have 1 actual eye witness who admittedly is speculating himself. so how do you know what looks good to you or not? you've seen the same as just about everyone on this board. NOTHING.

you've taken some second hand info and gotten all spun up about how we will be this or won't be that.

trust me, everyone here knows that if we don't have at least serviceable qb play the offense will struggle. and everyone knows what a one dimensional offense gets you. you've just accepted that's the way it is and that you hope you're wrong, and now lecturing us about it.

that's irrational.

It’s completely irrational. You haven’t watched a single practice. You have no, I repeat NO clue how either of the QBs are doing nor do you have a clue how our offense is gonna look this year. It’s ridiculous to be this panicked and depressed about something you have no clue about yet.

KC has NOT been named the starter yet, i know that’s hard for you to believe for some reason. Even if he is the starter, he wasn’t horrible his first year as a starter (not great either) then got hurt and was coming back from an acl which clearly affected him last year.

So you’re judging off a player that was playing on a somewhat bun knee and declaring that he can’t get better. You do realize players can improve right? Maybe he is better now than he was? Maybe we will have a more varied offense than Stanford runs. So many variables and unknowns at this point that yes, it’s COMPLETELY irrational for you to have taken the stance that all is lost, KC is the starter, he sucks, he will always suck, the offense will suck and will be painful to watch.

I like you dude, (Wonder if it has to do with the fact I like the character in oh brother and he’s your username and avatar? Lol ) but your hot takes are almost always premature panic and unnecessary.

LET THE SEASON START before you go into freak out mode.

Well ultimately I think OSU will find a way to hang onto him. I think if Urban knew without a shadow of a doubt that Smith was beating his wife, he should have fired him as soon as he did know. If it was a he said she said thing, and he reported it to his higher ups to investigate, I don't really think it's on Urban. If he does get fired, somebody will hire him again in short order IMO.
