Yeah. My parents live close to the superstitions. I’m in the SE part of the valley
Ok. You clearly didn’t watch him in his prime and didn’t watch him shoot a 64 in the final round of the last major yesterday, when he hit 5 fairways and 12 greens. He figured it out yesterday mid-round, when he didn’t really have it. He couldn’t even hit an iron in the fairway. He wasn’t even hitting balls this time last year, nor did he know if he would ever play again, and now he’s contending in the last 2 majors. Like I said, if he stays healthy, he will win again, and sooner than later.
I don’t love it from May - SeptemberishI’ve gotten to do fieldwork there, too. North of Superior in the Tonto NF. I remember taking lunch one day on a bluff looking out over Superior and thinking “I can’t believe I’m getting paid to hike around looking for sites out here.” I love that part of the world.
Yeah, he absolutely has to figure out a way to hit his driver more consistently. If he does that and can keep the rest of his game at the level he has it, he is going to win multiple times over the next few years. What he found yesterday was the it factor that he used to have… Being able to score when he had nowhere near his best stuff, especially off the tee. That is why he was so fun to watch in his prime… He could win even when he did not have anything close to his best stuff. The it factor that he has is unmatched by anyone. Put almost any other player and all of the positions that he was in yesterday, and I would venture to guess that they do not break par. Some of these guys saying that he is a washed up has been have no clue what they watched yesterday. Yesterday is the reason the media hype him so much and the reason golf is where it is today...When he is healthy, he just does things that no one else can do on the golf course. It's crazy that he couldn't hit a fairway, had 2 bogies and still shot a 64 on Sunday of a major to get in contention. His short game and putting is phenomenal right now. If he can figure out the tee box he'll do some damage.
It would be even cooler on weed man.View attachment 162875View attachment 162876
Along the Apache Trail for those wondering what I'm talking to Gucci about.
He shot 64 yesterday which was the best final round of a major he's ever had. And he's one of the best major tournament golfers in history. And that was his best round. And he did it without hitting a single fairway on the front nine. And he's been one of the best golfers all year. He's probably going back to the rider cup and if he can stay healthy I bet he has a really good year next year.Yeah, he absolutely has to figure out a way to hit his driver more consistently. yeah, he scrambled is way to a 64 and a 2nd place finish in a major. He shot 64 yesterday which was the best final round of a major he's ever had. Golf has always been "drive for show, putt for dough". Tiger was in contention yesterday because he was putting lights out, almost as good as he did in his prime. Can he do that consistently now that he's in his 40s? That is the real issue here IMO. HOF players like Tom Watson & now Phil Mickelson have stopped winning once their putting becomes inconsistent.
The young guns (Spieth, Thomas, Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day) all win when they putt lights out. But they come up short when they start missing putts (Thomas, D. Johnson yesterday). Spieth found his putting stroke again yesterday and would have been in contention except for a disastrous triple bogey on Saturday when his second shot hit a branch and went OB.
Golf is simply at a different level when Tiger's in the mix. Even his biggest haters have to acknowledge this.He shot 64 yesterday which was the best final round of a major he's ever had. And he's one of the best major tournament golfers in history. And that was his best round. And he did it without hitting a single fairway on the front nine. And and this point it probably Shrout.
JG may be losing his role. It could be possible, whether people like it or not, that if you with a game manager it's Chryst, if you want a gunslinger it's Shrout.
Where does guarantano fit it, if this is the case? And yes he took way too many sacks last year, so many it skewed the stats people still seem to rave about. If you count stats the way NFL does (counting a sack as a passing attempt) which you really should his actual completion percentage is 52%. He took that many sacks.
I'm sure Pruitt sees this as the x-factor. I'd he's STILL holding the ball too long that essentially torpedoes his chances.
And he shot a 64 which is nearly a record for a final round at a major. Nobody shot lower than he did yesterday. You can talk about the greens being easy, but he did better than anyone else on the same greens.Totally agree. No golfer will consistently do with the putter what Tiger did yesterday, not even Tiger. Short irons through putting were spectacular. Outside of that he really wasn't even good for a pro at that level. If he is able to develop the other parts of his game to an adequate level he can win again because he has the experience, golf sense, and will to win. But he should never count on getting slower, soft, straight putting greens from a shorter old school course like Bellerive again. His approach shots gave him the great opportunities and he capitalized.
Spieth needs to learn from Tiger since he has an incredible talent for the sport. If Spieth cannot do everything perfectly at the time he gets in his own head and blows up. Of course he's only 24, but that is important to move past. Tiger does the opposite - he figures out other ways to win and always has. The battle is inside yourself - just as Inky conveyed.
That's the battle JG is probably having. He's obviously highly talented. But you have to work hard enough to know what you do as a part of you and get out of your own head. Just play the game the right way. Hope he can pull it off because the team needs him to step up and win the job.
Not hitting the fairway doesn't mean crap anymore. If you would pay attention to any pro golfer other than tiger you would see that hitting it into the thick stuff has very little affect on the golfer. Most will still make it into the green in 2 and some will be in a better position than the person who hit the fairway. And that was his best round. And he did it without hitting a single fairway on the front nine.
FTR, “actual completion percentage” is a silly, made up stat that nobody except for you uses. And and this point it probably Shrout.

Yeah, I don't know who made that up, but the NFL does not count sacks as pass attempts. College is actually more punitive to the qb stats individually than the NFL as they subtract rushing yards from the qb for sacks whereas in the NFL it only subtracts gross passing yards from the team not the qb. Maybe that's a CFL stat. Or something somebody made up to support their narrative.Pretty sure the NFL does count a sack as an attempt. It does, however, subtract the lost yardage from the team (not individual) passing total.

he starts hitting fairways again, and look out. and really, he had two birdie putts lip out on the front, he could have shot 62, not changing a thing from the tee box.And he shot a 64 which is nearly a record for a final round at a major.
