Hubbs is pulling the ole switcheroo. He got caught up in national media looking at 4-8 and thinking we had no talent. Then he realized wait they were three plays from 7-5 with a lame duck coach, have more talent than most realize, and have been better than teams like Florida for 5 years but have had inept coaching.

According to star ratings we are second most talented team in the east. I think we will play like it this year.

Yeah that's over 300 touches for Chandler in a 13 game season. Since season stats include bowl stats now, the majority of stats you see from productive players are 13 game season stats...sometimes, like Derrick Henry's monster season, they are 15 game seasons....all of which muddies the water for comparative analysis.

Anyway, there's one thing I can guarantee about this upcoming season....amidst all the unknowns....no one running back is getting 300+ touches this season. I wonder if Chandler has that kind of durability anyway, he does run hard, so hard he knocked himself out on a collision last year.

I look for a much more even split amongst Jordan, Chandler, london, and fant. Fullbacks/H-backs and TE will get more than you or ainge anticipate...imo
Yeah if Chandler gets anywhere close to that many touches this year then I doubt he’ll be fielding kickoffs.

Exactly and 12th most talented in the country. I think with a fresh start we will see a lot more of these guys play up to their star ranking. Some won’t, but some will outplay their ranking too. New coaches tend to like to play their guys though. Only place I can see that hurting us is at QB, though.

Can't say that I have tried these specialties, but would imagine it would depend on the ability of the chef. Goat is delicious. Cabrito, a specialty of Monterrey, Mexico, is suckling young goat, cooked vertically on skewers over a fire pit. Difficult to find in the USA, although I found it in a good Mexican restaurant in ATL some years ago. Some folks are limited by their provincial attitudes and are the poorer for not experiencing fine regional cuisine.

Now let me blow your minds. Lol

DM is now hosting a Saturday show on 104.5 with DM. The former NFL coach loves him some CJP

He thinks he is going to be a huge success

Not really interested in Lady Vol talk, well not at all to be honest, but does Fulmer giving HW an extension say much to you guys??

I tend to think it means he is going to be very pro-coach and won't be willing to put much pressure on coaches but wanted to see if others thought the extension was any kind of big picture thing.
Future hindsight worries.

I agree we are more talented than 4-8, and much more talented than we were in 2010 and 2013. But I pump the breaks when I as anyone say we will win more than 7 this year. My biggest hang up is that Kirby (7-5) and Saban (6-6) both struggled their first year implementing similar systems and cultures at Georgia and Alabama with arguably more talent, and against easier schedules. Plus, we are relying on a bunch of guys that either have been injury prone or just simply haven’t produced at a high level before. I’m stuck at 5.5 still, and think our range is from 5-7 to 7-5, with maybe more pointing in the favor of 7 wins.

It will be a fun year regardless and I’m stoked about it. Should be some fun games and I think we steal one or two and give Bama all they can handle.

I admit I see things through tinted orange glasses but I rationalize that thought with the fact that, yes Saban is the best coach in cfb, but was Alabama really that talented when he took over? They definitely were not as talented as the Georgia team that Kirby took over, but I’m just banking and hoping that maybe Kirby isn’t the next Saban, and just had amazing luck last year (no injuries, etc). Now I do give you that they have easier schedules and that is my biggest reservation about this year.

Sad part is I need to use the abbreviations because I don't know how the spell coach Dave Mcginis? name.

Show is called coach to coach and Mcginis has replaced Fulmer as a host with mathews
Going to be an excellent show. I tuned into most of it today.

I think Shula actually recruited decently there. The two situations from a talent standpoint are probably pretty close IMO.

Bama had some really good fortune in 2008. Their 12-0 regular season was kinda fool's gold in a way. I believe even Saban admitted that they seemingly "arrived" a year ahead of schedule, and a big reason for that was because their opponents were uncharacteristically weak that year.

#9 Clemson went 7-6. Arkansas went 5-7. Tennessee went 5-7. LSU went 8-5. MSU went 4-8. Auburn went 5-7.

The only truly strong team they played in the regular season was UGA, but it was a typical overrated Richt UGA team that went 10-3. Granted, that was a huge win for Bama at the time, but they weren't really tested outside of that. They played a bunch of mediocre/bad SEC teams. It wasn't until they ran into Tebow's Florida that they faced a truly strong team. Then, of course, they went on to lose to Utah in the Sugar Bowl.

But the hype from that season was enough to give them two #1 recruiting classes in a row.

Even their 2009 season was pretty fortunate. VT was good that year, but their SEC opponents were weak again. They dismantled Florida in Atlanta, which was a huge win, but got to face Texas without Colt McCoy in Pasadena.

I think one thing we still need is more vocal player leadership. The coaches are still having to get on players for their effort and giving up on plays. If more players like Bituli got in their teammates' faces, the coaches wouldn't have to. Sounds like more guys are stepping up... but we're not quite there.
