DKjr appears to have been hitting the weights as well...

Sapp has been our best looking player forever. Dude is carved out of a comet.

UT Sports Info just informed us that Jeremy Pruitt isn't speaking tonight post practice as was originally scheduled. That will seriously curtail the rest of today's coverage. No particular reason given other than 'something has come up.'

Without Dobbs, this would not be said about Butch

And without Young Texas doesn't win a NC. Without Watson Clemson doesn't win a NC. Without Mayfield OU isn't as good as they were. Without Newton AU doesn't... I could go on and on. What the heck is your point?

You don't think he would have been successful without Brady? I personally believe Brady has benefitted from his Belicheck at least as much as Belicheck has from Brady.

He was fired in Cleveland, then on the hot seat in New England after his first year before Brady came along.

Then when Brady missed the whole year with injury, they missed the playoffs.

That’s all we can go by.

My point wasn't that Butch doesn't deserve credit for recruiting Dobbs, etc. I should have elaborated on my point: Butch got extremely lucky that Dobbs was the exact player who could shine in his "infallible" system.

Without landing Dobbs, Butch would have likely had 3 mediocre years, followed by his firing. All of this during a time period where the SEC East was pretty weak.

Sorry for the rustled jimmies.

He targeted and recruited Dobbs in his first class. That's kind of what you do as a coach.
I agree, and then Dobbs proceeded to carry him and the rest of Vol Nation. Again, I agree that Butch flipped Dobbs and brought him to Knoxville; it was the best thing he did in his 5 yrs here, recruit Josh Dobbs.

Take Tim Tebow away from Urban’s days in Gainesville and he has that heart attack much earlier.

You can "without so & so" for a lot of coaches and all of a sudden, they're pretty average.
You're right; but, w/o Dobbs, Butch falls way below "pretty average"...like, worst coach in 120 yrs of playing football below pretty average.

Bad example. Won without Brady at New England

Uh... no he didn't. In 2008 he was 11-5 with Matt Cassel. In 2000 he was 5-11. Brady was drafted in 2000 and started in 2001 after the team went 0-2. In 2016 Brady missed 4 games and the team went 3-1.

That means he has been roughly 19-19 without Brady. I'm no Brady apologist but those are some Jeff Fisher-esque numbers sans Brady.
