That list should show you something.... Our receiver with the most catches only averaged 2 per game according to that chart as a freshman.... That's horrible.

Edit: Not calling the receivers horrible obviously it was the coaching.

I was just looking at freshman years - not all in the same season.

I realize that. Byrd, Malone, and Jennings played in every game and averaged less than 2 catches as Freshman that's terrible.

That should tell you we struggled passing wise throughout the years.

We beat Florida in 98 again. Never gets old.
Is the Jeff Hall kick in overtime one of the most under rated plays in UT history? I mean he nailed it and it wasn’t an easy kick.

It's crazy. Those of us born in the mid 1990s have no recollection of a good Tennessee football team. I'm sick of having to look back to my infant years, when 75% of the USA didn't even have internet yet, to watch a dominant football program.

Wait what?

With Alontae Taylor having a strong summer, Tennessee is hoping that the freshman will make some early noise — as the expectation is for him to push hard for the starting job opposite of Baylen Buchanan, who was considered the most consistent cornerback this offseason. Fellow newcomer Brandon Davis has done a nice job since arriving this summer as well. Don't be surprised is he's a possibility at safety in some extra defensive back packages in an effort to get more speed on the field.

Junior college tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson has made it no secret that in his world he would like to be a one and done guy. To have that possibility, he needs a big year and Wood-Anderson has impressed this summer with not just his skills but also in his weight room work as well.

Cedric Tillman is another guy who has caught people's attention this summer with some plays he has made in 7on7s. As one person reminded Volquest this week, don't forget the program he came out of in Las Vegas. Some feel Bishop-Gorman is a small college type program. So this time of training and work hasn't been as big of an adjustment for him as it is for some others. There's plenty of curiosity to see home his game translates once the pads go on and it's 11-on-11 football.

Lastly, the quarterback battle will be the story that many fans fixate on in fall camp. Don't expect much talk from Jeremy Pruitt about that battle. The battle will be settled in the coming month and there is no “clubhouse leader." It is safe to say that this staff does like the way Jarrett Guarantano has reacted to the arrival of Keller Chryst. Guarantano has embraced the competition and has welcomed it. The New Jersey native seems more focused and very driven. Now to win the job he has to be more accurate, see the field better, and make those around him better. That we will see. However, there no one who doesn't think Guarantano has made himself better this summer.

Jeez you were born in the mid 90s....

Haha. No wonder u are so negative, u have never seen UT great. '85-2001, although maybe not the golden age, at least the silver age. One bad year, 1988 and UT won the last 5 games that year and u knew we were going to be loaded in '89

Edit: not u, chizzle, Catbone

It was glorious. Can’t wait to get back there.

You had forerunners back then. Preaching doom and how we’d never get past Florida...then reporting back to fellow UGA fans. :)

Goodnight everyone! It'll be exciting watching tomorrow unfold, especially getting a CB commit 😉. Enjoy!

Awesome quotes on JG. Sounds like the competition with chryst has motivated him to reach his potential

A fullback for us because we were so freakin loaded at tailback who later started in the NFL as a tailback. I would put the talent of the '98 RB stable against any team, all-time, anywhere.

Didn't Miami have Frank gore, Clinton Portis, and Willis mcgahee at the same time? I'm not sure any team ever will compete with the talent on that 01 Miami team. They had all pros who couldn't get on the field.
