We could probably have a whole class of 4 stars if pruiit took everyone regardless of fit and just took based on stars. Otey, Woody, wilhoite are 3 that didn't want to earn offer at camp. Couple other kids we have not let commit that were 4 stars. He could easily fake the rankings if he wanted to but he is sticking to his board and his evaluation and his profiles

Well yeah, I suppose so. I'd like for them to find fits that are higher ranked but I get it that Bama, Georgia, LSU, and A&M are sucking them all up right now. Not to mention the other top schools out of the SEC. It's hard to recruit at UT.

My thoughts:

1) I trust Pruitt’s talent evaluations more than any recent head coach’s, in light of his background

2) it is a reflection of where we are as a program (we complained about Fulmer’s recruiting late in his tenure, Dooley’s recruiting, Butch’s recruiting late in his tenure - the one constant in all of that is the Tennessee program and its fall from blue blood status in the eyes of many during that stretch, making it a tougher place to recruit to)

3) I do think 4/5 stars are undeniably important (in the aggregate) and hope we land more going forward

:good!:

I don't think we have the depth and talent to compete with UGA but we do have it to compete with Florida, USCe, and Missouri. If this staff is as good as we think we could shock some teams this year, 8 wins is not out of the question.

:good!:

I could see that if we stay healthy and if Guarantano can get it done.

Good Lord, are they even going to be able to field a team this year?

Mullins will not do anything about this. He's on record as saying they're just 18--22 year old kids. This could be a great learning lesson. Two of these players have already screwed up once and they're still around.

Nothing to see here.

Things will change once we see what we do on field. You don't overnight beat those teams for all the guys. You build up. Win a few vs those. Win a few vs the level right below like auburn etc.

Your talking about two teams in title game. LSU who is mainly just instatekids. Then AM who has Jimbo fisher. Proven products vs 1st time HC and 1st time full time OC. We have lots of question marks. Once kids see more proof then watch this staff go ape ****

WCE 219: 2018 SEC East College Football preview - YouTube

Dunno who these guys are, but I'm trusting the podcasting/recording equipment to prove their semi-legitimacy.

Red hat says we go 6-6, losing all the tough ones (saying we win Mizzou over Florida).

Green polo says we go 9-3 but later says he's iffy on WVU and we may drop another one. But he's got full faith that we win one or maybe two of our first eight not named ETSU or UTEP. He doesn't say who our three losses are, but it can be assumed UGA/Bama/South Carolina (because both guys actually had Carolina making the SECCG.

Is it fall practice yet?

“As a Tiger's Unlimited season ticket holder, we would like to offer you an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to the LSU and Tennessee games!

These tickets have become available due to returns from the original visiting team allotments.”

Interesting

I really, truly believe we will start out 4-0 going into UGA week ranked in the top 25...with a lot of momentum.

Previous 10 SEC East winners and their average SEC East recruiting classes from their previous 5 classes.

2008...Florida...1st
2009...Florida...1st
2010...South Carolina... 4th
2011...Georgia... 2nd
2012...Georgia... 2nd
2013...Missouri... 5th
2014...Missouri... 5th
2015...Florida... 2nd
2016...Florida... 2nd
2017...Georgia... 1st

As you can see, to win the SEC East you almost have to be ranked 1st or 2nd in recruiting in the SEC East over a 5 year stretch. Missouri and South Carolina are the exceptions.

They are the exception 30% of the time.
