QB: Wash
RB: 2018
OL: 2013
TE: 2018
DL: Wash
LB: Wash (AJ Johnson)
WR: 2018
DB: 2018

Imo

AJ wasn’t very good. Slow as hell and couldn’t cover for his life. He was a LB from 1983 playing today.

And 2013 had two NFL QBs. How is that a wash. It’s the only slot we were good at.

I’d say we need to see the team in action before we can start to judge, but I’m going to predict that when it’s said and done the OL will be the only part of the 2013 team that can hold a candle to 2018.

He is saying that the program was nuked into near oblivion by last season (4-8) and then the coaching search circus on top of that. It takes more than seven months to recover from that, and "expecting" a Bama UGA like haul of 5*s and high 4* in this class is ridiculous. Especially considering all the other great programs already doing well right now that are after those guys.

Ahhh...

I thought AJ was a good college LB. I enjoyed watching him play. He could tackle like Captain Insano.

Kansas scored 34 against WV. Vols 35, WV 27.

I swear, I laid so much money that game on WV, and they burned me by failing to cover by 2 points. And they looked so good in the 1st half of that game, and of course their defense let up off the gas.

Oklahoma State is my Big 12 chalky team I lay money on, who almost always cover when I back them.

Some time ago, a thread was started on this board titled "3-star Millionaire".

Despite it being one of the dumber threads I've ever seen on Volnation, the dialogue it started has become perhaps the longest-running debate topic on the recruiting forum.

What an incredible legacy for such an ill-conceived post.

Yes.

I don't think you need top 5 every year, but consistently top 10ish.

I think in the SEC, if you have more than one class ranked lower than top 10 in a 4 year cycle, you are likely going to be in trouble.

Someone will inevitably ask “What if that lowest class is 11th or 12th?,” hence the “likely.”

Yes or no: Tennessee has more talent on the 2018 roster than the 2013 roster.

the only one i'd call a sure thing for 2013 is OL, and with what we've done with the OL this off season, that gap MAY not be as wide as it was when we ended the 2017 season.

i'd say push or slight nod to 2018 in most every other position.

Previous 10 SEC East winners and their average SEC East recruiting classes from their previous 5 classes.

2008...Florida...1st
2009...Florida...1st
2010...South Carolina... 4th
2011...Georgia... 2nd
2012...Georgia... 2nd
2013...Missouri... 5th
2014...Missouri... 5th
2015...Florida... 2nd
2016...Florida... 2nd
2017...Georgia... 1st

As you can see, to win the SEC East you almost have to be ranked 1st or 2nd in recruiting in the SEC East over a 5 year stretch. Missouri and South Carolina are the exceptions.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance!

Missouri. SMH. Such a sad time for the east. How did we let them take a piece of the pie.
