We will. This kids a 4 star on ESPN and was invited to Elite 11 finals. Camped at OSU and they offered. Camped at UT and we offered. It's not like he's some scrub. At this point in the '19 QB recruiting race it's a pretty good pickup and will be a very nice #2 QB in the class behind Taulia.

The only problem is this years elite 11 is pretty much a joke compared to other classes

For what it’s worth, Tennessee doesn’t view Maurer or Brown as “a throw-in QB that’s just going to get recruited over.” The Vols have seen several guys throw in person this year, and after having Maurer, Brown and others at their camp, I think they see those two as being better than multiple guys who currently are committed to other major programs. They don’t feel either is “just a guy.”

Plus, don’t forget Tennessee now seems to have a realistic shot at Taulia Tagovailoa, who remains probably the Vols’ top QB target.

Yeah not really. I'm sure other years were better but this year is far from a joke. Plenty of very talented, highly ranked and recruited QB's.

I think he’s a scrub when the pads are on. 30 TDs and 23 picks in two years is bad. Taulia is a stud though so if we get him I’ll be all good with taking a guy like Maurer that has some upside

Important point is Helton and Pruitt don't think he's a scrub. They seem to like him a good bit better than many other QB's this class. They know more than you and I.

If the OSU offer was legit, I don't see why people would think this guy is not a good pickup. Wait, no I do. Because some people just want to *****. But, that's aight. I'll wait to do my *****ing after we see how these players develop and perform.

Well, yeah, we've all heard many times the '19 QB class isn't as good as the '18 or '20 but that doesn't make the Elite 11 roster "a joke" as you put it. Doubt Hubbs said that either. Look up the roster...plenty of highly talented, highly rated and recruited QB's. Just because it's not the best class doesn't make it a joke.

Ok, I’m not wanting to argue. IMO this guy is throwing signals to the starting qb his whole career at UT.

Exactly. But what do Urban Meyer, Helton, Pruitt, Jimbo Fisher and Holgorsen know about QB evaluations?
