Stanford hasn’t been as talented as they had been in years past. Even at their best they aren’t a top 3 team talent wise in the pac 12. Imo

How is Stanford not top 3 in the PAC 12? Lol this is an objectively bad opinion. Other than USC and Washington, who else is on par with them?

Pruitt will play the best QB to win now.

If JG does transfer, he will go out and pick up the best available Grad Transfer for the following year.

No big deal IMO, just win now.

Everybody's writing off Shrout. He needs to bulk up some more and get some experience, but he can play in four games and still RS. He's athletic, makes good reads, has a strong arm and has shown he can scramble when he needs to. He needs to work on his accuracy and improve his footwork, but he could end up being better than people think. It'll be interesting to see how he develops this year.
How do we know that Shrout makes good reads? His HS stats don’t suggest that at all.

The only thing we know about Shrout right now is that he has arm talent to work with. Everything else is basically unknown.

I wouldn’t think it was a big deal until you compare his rushing totals before and after injury.

Before injury:
41 attempts 159 yards.

After injury:
19 attempts -5 yards.

That screams lost mobility, scared to run, rushed back etc...something was definitely off

Quality of opponent also was tougher in 2017 than 2016. He played nothing but terrible defenses in 2016. Played some with a pulse in 2017.

I have read it all. A suggestion that 8-4 this year could be a bad thing if the wrong QB plays because it could effect year 2. Holy moly. 8-4 this year would be great, and the recruits would be crawling to Knoxville.

Off topic question here...
If any of y'all happened to be using your personal vehicle for benefit of company work, hauling/transporting something, and doing so caused your vehicle to break, would your company pay for the repair?

I was using my diesel to haul a trailer loaded with company equipment bc my company vehicle is too small, and my turbo grenaded. Will be about a $5k repair cost.

Just curious as to some thoughts and experience if anyone has any...

Exactly. Difference? He was only a redshirt freshman. The JG hate baffles me

I really think it's a combination of 3 things.

1. ESPN destroyed him when he pouted on the sidelines against GT.

2. There was lots of Dormady love here until he started sucking really bad

3. We sucked last year and he was part of it, even though I don't think it was really on him at all.

I really want him to win the job. I think we will be a better team if he performs well enough to beat out Chryst.

Ditto.

I guess I’m thinking If JG can’t beat out chryst Then that means he’s quite a ways behind chryst and not what they want going forward. Bc surely if they are close you would start JG just for development purposes.

I get the feeling that this staff isn't that high on Guarantano. In the future I see Pruitt having the model of putting a dominant defense and running game on the field with a game manager type QB. Like what Bama has done.

Not taking away from JG during that drive but that’s a pretty easy situation to get down to scoring position. Defense is in a lose coverage and just keeping everything in front (or trying to) so there will be big windows to hit.

You really need to focus on your day job.

Truth

Well then we need to have some serious concerns about their QB evaluation because Chryst couldn’t get it done at Stanford when all the pieces were there for him to succeed. JG had none of that and showed signs that he can be a good or very good player. I think and hope he’ll win the job this fall

This Chryst was terrible at Stanford narrative just isn't right. He didn't set the woods on fire, but he was solid. Especially before the knee injury.

Seems pretty obvious. I honestly couldnt care less about who starts but it doesn't seem the staff is sold on his development thus far. They probably like his talent but worried about his development
