The guy that ran away with it put up similar stats to JG if JG had played in 11 games. And maybe he still hasnt recovered from that knee injury.Yeah, coming off an ACL surgery where he still wasnt near 100%, his backup took over the starting position and ran away with it. How does that condemn him?
Anyways, as I said Chryst has been brought in due to how smart he plays, not because he is going to throw the opponent out of the stadium. The coaches watched last years tape on JG and are not completely sure he can offer them that. They will figure that out during Fall practice.

Its not like we landed Joe burrow from OSU. He lost the competition to a legit QB in Haskins. If chryst was legit he could have stayed at Stanford and competed. Walk ons were having to play start this spring for them because all the other guys were hurt. I do not buy that hes a good player at all. We will find out this fall

Butch also played jumper over bituli, thought Alvin kamara was a back up, refused to play Dobbs until he absolutely had to, etc. thats a terrible point to try to make. We are all painfully aware of the fact that butch chose seniority over talent time and time againI mean JG lost out to Dormady who is now a backup QB at Houston

Y'all, I'm rewatching that Outback Bowl v. Northwestern and the DB sack just happened. Talk about a crunch.

woof
I think JG gives us a chance to win more games this year than anyone else on the roster. So I think he will win the job in the fall.
Interesting considering Chryst was benched 3 weeks before Cal played Stanford last yearTifwiw but i have a friend who does video prep for Cal (was a manager here when Wilcox was the DC) and he told me that chryst looked like a total different player before his acl injury and then after. He said the year after they didnt even bother spying chryst at all like they did the year before.
I know one thing the dude is impressive as hell size wise. Like white cam newton big.
If thats the case then thats the best case scenario. My whole point was if he cant beat out chryst this year (when we all agree hes not a Russel Wilson type grad transfer) then i dont see him ever being the guy here.
The work outs this summer and the fall camp is the most important in JG's life...
Pruitt wants to win NOW...Pruitt intends to show improvement NOW..
From what I have seen of JG up until now he has been unable to lead his receivers with accuracy and he is not a threat to run.
Pruitt only owes JG a chance just like Chryst...
If JG hasn't improved in pass accuracy since last season then I don't think Pruitt will have any problem playing Chryst if Chryst is as advertised...
So as far as JG career at Tennessee is concerned I think his off season training will be the most important of his career
He has accomplished way more than JG and the pac12 is a very good conference. Outside of AL and GA last year not sure you can make a great case for the schedule JG played being better. Id say weaker. His numbers against those 2 were so bad not sure how it helps your case that he played them and did absolutely nothing.
2016 he led a team to 10-3. 12th in the country. JG lead a team to 4-8..
Im not a JG hater but to say he and Chryst have had similar careers is laughable
