My problem with the lotto has less to do with the students getting scholarships and about everything else associated with the lottery. The ripple effect on education, the raising of tuition, the tax on the poor, takes money out of the economy, etc.

One of the biggest problems is that the politicians said that it would go to education. They then took away a significant portion of tax money earmarked for state colleges. That’s why tuition skyrocketed...
The politicians in essence stole from the colleges through chicanery.

Burn them as witches.

Don’t take away my lottery. That’s my foolproof retirement plan. 😳

If you start saving early enough (early 20's), 10-15% should be sufficient. If you wait, like most people, until you are in your late 30's or 40's, then 20-30% will probably be required to retire in the way you really want to. Sacrifice now, or sacrifice later. Time is the best tool we have when it comes to saving. Start early and save as much as you possibly can without forgetting to live a little too.

My wife is almost 9 years younger. I planned on her working once I retired for 7-8 years...my retirement would grow as we lived off her salary.

Her plan was to retire when I do...I now am working harder. Dang it :)

Doc be like:
"Now is the time to own up to any other Interdimensional chicanery!"

That was 7-8 years of golf she squandered

He’s defending his kids and making objective points. In modern days FSU and Ohio State are bigger programs. The question is whether Woodi wants to jump on a bandwagon or build one.

Building a program isn’t for everyone. Especially in a “now” culture. Maybe he’ll prove us wrong.

Lost all credibility mentioning FSU and championship.

I stand by my point. He’s a narcissistic jerk and thinks he knows better than anyone when the dude cuts hair for a living.

A quote from an article in the Washington Post:

The information of Schiano’s alleged knowledge came to light in the unsealed court testimony of former PSU staffer Mike McQueary. Here’s a passage from the report…

“Former Penn State assistant coaches Greg Schiano and Tom Bradley knew that Jerry Sandusky, their colleague on Joe Paterno’s football staff, was acting improperly with young boys years before law-enforcement authorities were first notified, according to testimony from former Penn State assistant Mike McQueary that was unsealed Tuesday by a Philadelphia court.

McQueary, who testified in Sandusky’s 2012 criminal case that he had told Paterno of seeing Sandusky rape a boy in 2001, said in the 2015 deposition that he had “briefly” discussed with Bradley what he had seen.

“He said another assistant coach had come to him in the early ’90s about a very similar situation to mine, and he said that he had — someone had come to him as far back as early as the ’80s about seeing Jerry Sandusky doing something with a boy,” McQueary said.”

According to McQueary, Bradley identified Schiano, now the Ohio State defensive coordinator, as the other assistant.
In response to a question about whether Bradley had shared details of what Schiano had said, McQueary related a conversation with Bradley.

“No,” McQueary replied, according to the documents, “only that he had — I can’t remember if it was one night or one morning — but that Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower. And that’s it. That’s all he ever told me"

McQueary added that he didn’t know whether Bradley, now UCLA’s defensive coordinator, had reported the incident, which he said happened in “like 2005, ’06; it could have been anywhere in there.”

I stand corrected Mrs Smokin. I thought someone had told SchiaNO they saw something and he didn’t report it. This is even worse. Geez I’m glad he isn’t our coach. Still amazes me that the fan base was villainized for revolting.

In general, how is it out there (pros, cons, weather lifestyle, etc)? Ive been thinking (job related) about moving out there.

Pros:

Young state that is still developing.
Ability to leave the heat and go up north to a completely different environment. (Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona)
Affordable living unless you’re going to live in North Scottsdale or Paradise Valley.
Great restaurant scene.
Grid system

Cons:
Hot as hell for 4 months but yes it is dry.
Fastest growing county (Maricopa)
I wouldn’t live more then 15 miles from where I worked.
Really bad drivers. I believe we have the highest fatality rate when it comes to automobiles.

Yes you can watch the Vols here. I’ve watch them all over the state when I’m not at home. What job sector and area are you thinking of moving to? I’m in the southeast part of the Valley.

👍. As am I.

Good to see that there are more Vols in the Phx area, been out here for about 3 years now. North Valley

Not sure there's a disconnect but what many hv to realize is you hv guys who want to win a NC so camping at FSU and tOSU is more intriguing. Who besides Bama is putting out players like tOSU? Also guys don't want to get their bodies over worked when they hv school workouts, training, and need rest for what they consider major national events like The Open and Rivals 3 Stripe Challenge.

Just wondering how much time you saved and what you got accomplished by writing "hv" each time instead of have.

All this angst over kids that are predicated on a falsehood or at least a biased eye. Woody is pimping these kids because of NPA and he has a big platform but these kids are mostly boarderline 3 stars...if these guys were from Georgia or Florida, they would be considered Lyle jones commits. If we don’t get one of them I won’t lose one second of sleep over it, we are in on some difference makers, these are glue guys, not super stars...woody is a clown and anyone who takes his “evaluations” with anything more than a grade of slaw might be dumber than woody himself.

I'll take a slawburger fries and a bottle of ski
