'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

You’re very optimistic. Outside of Trey Smith and Kennedy who else would be a Bama type lineman? Wright, Morris, and Lampley will help but it’ll take 3 classes of those guys to have Bama depth

Bama's stacked in the trenches... now they aren't 6 deep in 5* OT's stacked... so dial it back a little lol... but I agree for the most part...

Beyond just depth, Bama's line is pretty consistently =/>4* upperclassmen on the starting line outside of the occasional phenom...

Morris is capable of starting as a freshman, but needs to build his upper body for a solid pass protection punch and his technique is a little bit raw... Wright is plug-and-play as a freshman on any program in the country...

Regardless... they'll both be light years stronger as Junior-Seniors, and that's the years you have to look forward to.

Assuming both fall to us... Next year will be big improvement, but not Bama line status yet... 2-3 years from now if they continue to roll in quality depth, they could get there.

It's a bad program comparison though, positionally anyways... There are two things Alabama has steadily cranked R1-2 NFL-caliber talent at... OL and Front 7 (Really defense in general, but the Front 7 is all over the NFL)

I'm convinced that's why most headliner RBs from Bama fail in the pros... cause they're spoiled by that line

That's my 2¢ anyways... Yes, the names will all be Bama caliber but it'll be a year at least before the man-strength gets there

REALLY hope we land Wright... he's SO good for coming out of HS

the headliners get the pub, and that's fine. but i think you can take a look at a kid like Jerome Carvin as a good example here.

now, he could have gone to Bama. and he'd of been a year or two away from seeing the field there, b/c of established depth.

but he's a good 4* recruit.

the difference here is, he's probably going to find himself in the rotation THIS year at TN. and he's not really ready for that. OL, even really good ones, usually aren't supposed to see the field as early as many of our guys have, simply because we've not been healthy and we've not built any competitive depth.

that is now happening. but you're right, we're probably still a couple years away from being able to recruit a kid like Carvin or Lampley and they not really be expected to contribute from day 1.

this line will be more talented next year. but we aren't really close to the type of depth Bama has.

i will say this, if smith comes back healthy, and you get him and Richmond and Kennedy from C to LT, the left side of our line should be pretty darn good...THIS year.

and if Hall and Tatum are good to go, the right side won't suck out loud.

and then, you just pray for health the rest of the way.

Price on midday says if he doesn't get to anywhere this weekend or in the first week after the next dead period then that is a huge win for TN.

What’s more likely: getting both Crouch and Wright or neither?

That’s the thing. We have the talent. Needed the coaching. Then Freind showed up.

We lack the depth and talent. Our top two are fairly equal but there is a distinct and noticeable drop off in talent after that when compared with Bama.

There’s no way we get wanya and Wright is there? I mean how in the heck

They know Coach Friend is the real deal. They knew it when he was at UGA. This is what Tennessee recruiting SHOULD be. Other teams wishing they had what we have.

Man, Wright and Morris on the line with Crouch running behind them and Trey. Crouch getting 7/8 touches at RB while splitting time at LB. Myles Jack 2.0. I can see it

I think we are currently sitting at around 85% on Crouch and about 65% on Wright.

Pruitt and his crew, particularly Niedermeyer, are putting in some work. We Nied these top of the line talents.
