Whew, just finished a heck of a run. Feels good.

*lights cigarette*

It’s so nice to take charge of your health.

*drinks gin compulsively straight from the bottle*

I mean, it’s all about making the right choices.

*subsists entirely on Oreos because technically they’re vegan*

I’m just so glad I found a lifestyle that’s right for me.

Are you spying on me?

The leanest I've ever been I basically did just compound lifts and cut back on carbs/liquid calories. No cardio.

RPT

The leanest I’ve ever been was when I added running into my weightlifting. I’ve always had trouble losing/maintaining my weight. I was lifting 5-6 days a week and eating healthy but still wasn’t losing enough weight. I started running/elliptical for an hour a day on top of my lifting and the fat just melted off me. Granted this was a 2-2.5 hour workout every day.

Mineral salt helps get over Keto flu or Himalayan salt, pink salt. Like others have said, I felt bad for a few days and not much more than that.

How do you test ketones?

I did not know that.

If you are attempting any form of carb restricted diet, this is the easiest way to make sure you are actually restricting carbs. A man with moderate activity should get a positive ketone indication in 48 to 72 hours. If your insulin/glucagon cycling is busted it might take longer, and you will probably be real unhappy around day 4.

In my case, I am adding only as much carb as I can process and get back to ketosis in 24 hours. If I am getting any indication, my weight is stable. If I'm getting anything more than a trace, I'm losing weight.

Beach body is fantastic! For about $38 or so every 3 months, you can stream all of those workouts. They have a huge range to select from. I love the Shaun T workouts. He will kick your tail. Love Insanity Max 30 series. I’m currently doing Shaun Week this week. It’s really good too.

Started the 5th week of the original P90 this week. Feel better overall and my arthritis does hurt nearly as much. My wife bought a year's subscription for herself, but my cheap *** was like, I can use it too and get twice as much benefit! Hooray for Cheapness!! (Amirite Sarge?)

What does the salt do that prevents keto flu?

Most people I’ve talked to don’t add salt when preparing their meals. When you cut out sodium, the body goes into a funk, aka Keto flu.

Have a client who is a nutritionist and she said that’s the main culprit to the Keto Flu is lack of Salt. The body requires so much salt per day.

Once I started adding in salt, my energy came back, the sluggish feeling went away.

I dealt the the Keto flu for almost three weeks and couldn’t figure it out. Salt was the key for me cause I wasn’t using any at all.

Pink salt is th way to go.

Yuck. Was lifting 3 days/week about an hour each session.

I am no expert for getting into shape or anything like that but throughout my time on this Earth I have been in some organizations that require you to stay fit.

Honestly a good regimen for weight loss is some type of lifting, incorporated with some running, and you don't want to neglect your abs, because most bodies retain fat in the hip/gut area.

So Lifting, Running, Pushups, Situps and I think you will see results.

I like to throw in box jumps and air squats some days with my run etc.

That should help the weightloss issue. Of course just watch the amount of food you eat, if you don't want to change your food style completely.

If you want big drops of course you would need to watch your diet however.

My metabolism is such that I usually have to go to extremes to lose weight. It’s sucks. And I love to eat, especially as a “comfort” when I’m having a bad day, so that compounds it.

All that said, if I would just stay consistent with my workout and diet after I get to my desired weight I wouldn’t keep having this problem of needing to lose weight.

Dang I’m one of the lucky ones. I’m 6’3 185 and have eaten what I want when I want how I want and usually sleep 7-9 hours a night. My metabolism is through the roof so I guess I’m really screwed when it slows down.

If you're under 30, it will really start to slow down when you hit 30. It surely did for me.

Bottom line, there are many ways to lose weight. It’s debatable what is the “best” method. I’ve tried and had success many ways. Counting fat grams. Counting carbs. Skipping meals. All of those basically come down to one thing, burning more calories than you consume. You just have to pick the one you can stick with. Always the best place to start is cutting out sugars and junk food.

Reasonable diet and some physical activity. Lifting weights is always good if you can do it. Running, basketball, elliptical, hiking. A combination of things. Whatever works for you.

I had a guy tell me that the other day and I laughed. He asked me what my definition of a dad bod was. I defined it as an out of shape middle ager with a hefty beer gut and no muscle. He told me my definition was wrong. He described the dad bod as one that used to be in good shape, still has muscle, but some meat too. He said the ladies like it. I told him he was full of crap. That night I asked my wife and she described a dad bod the same as he did and said girls find it extremely sexy. So you're on the right track buddy. :hi:

When you get done with P90X, hit up some of Shaun T’s workouts, especially Insanity Max 30. You can thank me later.
