I'm obviously not going to change your mind, so u believe what u want and I will believe what I want. Some of the people that wrote the books of the Bible and translated the Bible had agendas whether u want to believe it or not. Because they were MEN and MEN sin

It was also passed through generation upon generation upon generation especially the old testament...every played the telephone game?

A little off topic, but I saw Mike Tyson at Disney last December in Epcot. He looked very bad. Was extremely shaky and sweating profusely. If more boxers saw him now, they would probably never step foot in the ring. I was astonished at how bad he looked, and genuinely felt very sorry for him.

He was a horrible horrible person for most of his life. I can't feel sorry for him but I understand your point.

That is where the problem comes in. RELIGION. That is why catholics killed protestants for hundreds of years and protestants killed catholics. Why they both killed jews and any and all native person they found as they explored for the glory of their God.

Religion and faith are two different things. Religion is a human construct interpreted hundreds of ways and is inherently faulty. Most baptists I know follow King James bible that is why I mentioned it and it was created to translate the greek, latin and hebrew texts into english by the english scholars of the Church of England. Whenever humans get their grubby hands on something, it becomes tainted.

In its simplest form faith is a beautiful thing and I do not need a bible in any form to tell me why.

Sin is the problem sir. Everything you mentioned is explained by sin. And everyone is a sinner, including all of us, and everyone who has ever lived save one.

But Christ is the answer to that sin. Though His life, death, and resurrection we are saved from the wrath that is to come. It would be foolish to let the actions of sinful men cause us to ignore the gospel message and thus reject the very Son of God. He lived a perfect righteous life because we couldnt. He died and suffered the penalty against sin that we deserved. So that if we repent and believe in Him I can be saved for the righteousness that is His is given to us, and the punishment that we deserve is given to Him. In short, if we believe in Christ, God treats Him as if He lived our life and turns and treats us as if we lived His!

This is what is most important Newt. While men have done evil things, it doesn’t change the gospel message. We are sinners, the penalty for sin is death, but Christ died so that we would not have to face that penalty. Why worry about all that mess you just mentioned and instead trust in Christ alone. Unlike me and the rest of us, He has never sinned or done any evil. He is the only way.

The telephone game does not compare.

Again, 25,000 manuscripts crossing different geographical locations, different cultures, different languages, and they match up over 99% with each other. And again, the differences are almost all spelling errors.

That sound like the telephone game?

And? Facts are facts. This is like you saying WW2 didn’t happen and let’s just agree to disagree.

Ali was always a favorite of mine, as a fellow Parkinson’s sufferer, and meeting him a while back was very similar. He was just a shell of a person, not to mention a shadow of the Ali that was a sports revolutionary. I boxed for 3 years and I have headaches and arthritis. Can’t imagine what doing it for decades does to a human.

I know what religion has made men do, you call it sin but without religion it would not have happened so....

I don't worry about it but I know history.

Like I said faith and religion are two different things.

I am totally at peace and that is all I can ask for.

Religion is the excuse men use. But they will sin, regardless of what they blame for it. Who are you at peace with? Are you at peace with God? There is one way to have peace with God: “therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1. My prayer is that you would know that peace.

That is religion messing with you.

You should just be happy one is at peace.

End of story.

well, i mean, you don't HAVE to..........

People also don't HAVE to clog up a recruits thread with posts that are appropriate elsewhere. I've said before I don't mind a little banter at all. But page after page after page is just a lot to sift through. I'm not even really reading, just trying to find some info.

And by that logic, I should just give up following recruiting or what?

No, it's nothing like that and u seem mad, now. Like I said before, I will believe what I want and u believe what u want. I'm dropping it. When u make up your mind about something u don't or won't look at something with an open mind, kinda like your feelings on LeBron. Oh yeah, just because I think the Bible has been altered doesn't mean I don't believe in the main meaning of it

Happiness in this world is very temporary Newt. So is peace. But what about eternity?

I know what I know. Religion is on this earth for the sole reason of telling people where they go when they die. They all have different answers, they all think they are right and everybody else is wrong.

Cue quoting scripture to prove you are right...and everybody else is wrong.

I’m not mad at all. But your position is verifiably, factually, incorrect. I don’t know of any serious scholar, even atheistic scholar, who would dare claim that Constantine or Shakespeare altered the Bible.

Of course some will claim we can’t trust it and we can debate that and again the evidence doesn’t support that. But those two historical claims you have made are verifiably false.

Actually you’re wrong. There are only two religions in the world when it comes down to it. They go by different names and have different systems, sure. But every religion in the world says that man earns his salvation or enlightenment or whatever through human effort. Name the religion, and it will be a system of human achievement.

Except Christianity. The Bible teaches that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is His work that saves. You may not believe the Bible, and I can’t make you, but truth is truth. The resurrection of Christ proves both that there is life after death and that Christ is the Messiah who was promised. There is one way, and Christ is the way. My only hope is that God will one day show that to you.

Not a whole of things are funnier in life than taking a huge dump in a public bathroom and just leaving it laying

Those were 2 examples, trust me there are many more. The Dead Sea Scrolls, other missing books of the Bible, like Enoch and Josser(SP?). But, I said I was going to drop it. Have a good day, Bass
