So you've got two different explanations here for the ZTE carve out deal. 1) The Chinese may have conditioned their help with North Korea on such a deal; 2) Trump agreed to it in exchange for $500 million in Chinese financial support for a project in Indonesia which would benefit Trump because he is part of the project.

Even if # 1 is correct, and which is pure speculation, Trump as President has a duty to have divested himself from interest in such projects if for no other reason than to avoid the appearance of impropriety. This has long been a criticism of him, and is it fully deserved -- he has not separated himself from the potential of making money by altering US policy.

I actually agree on this point and have said so here. But just as I’ve said I’m speculating you are also speculating. And you will for his whole term. But if you could prove it we just wouldn’t be talking about it in the Internet.

It’s going to follow him his whole presidency. The only way I see he could do it would be put the family in charge of the business and not allow any of them to serve in his administration.

But thankfully for you guys he chose not to do that so you can ***** about it for 7 more years!!!

Some of us have actually speculated that the ZTE issue was used as leverage over China on DPRK. I’ve in fact mentioned that to you I believe. But I also labeled it speculation. You on the other hand take your own speculation on this topic, label it as fact, and demand we answer for it. GTFO with that crap.

Also, destroying ZTE will incite a response from China that isn’t good for anybody. Weren’t you guys just lecturing us about a trade war with China? Destroying ZTE will bring that in spades.

Iran deal was a paper tiger. it was words with no teeth. we got nothing with that deal. Nothing. no loss pulling out of it. thankfully, for you, we weren't the only ones involved. Iran is still responsible to the rest of the signers.
