Anti-Trump Hysteria and Silliness

Very true. This money from China more than halfway bankrolls the entire Trump-branded project with the removal of sanctions from this Chinese government owned company representing an incredible conflict of interest. THESE SANCTIONS WERE IMPLEMENTED BY HIS OWN ADMINISTRATION FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Trump has since tried to market this "deal" on twitter as somehow being of significant benefit to the United States (you know that country he is President of?) It's ridiculous. Like most everything else he does, this is only of benefit to him and his family (and also to a foreign government he described as an adversary during the Presidential campaign).

Trump is nothing short of being a corrupt, lying, hypocritical con artist who is using his position to personally enrich himself. It's cool though because his base of support is nothing but uneducated, ignorant, gullible sheep who not only drink the kool-aid he has poured but also stirs the cyanide themselves. The very few of his supporters who are even capable of understanding what Trump has done with this ZTE Chinese business... will not care. They will continue to chant "Drain the swamp" at his rallies and applaud like idiots when he recites slogans such as "America First" with the assurance that a currency manipulator such as China will be punished for their actions.

Just waiting to hear from the Daily Caller and National Review. That is where the real news is. lol. How are they spinning it to the sheep?

Fox News hasn't mentioned ZTE or the Trump tweet from Sunday which drew attention to this garbage. They will ignore it and so will the Trump kool-aid drinking sheep on VN. I predict that NONE of the conservatives/Trump supporters will address this topic on here. In light of Trump's campaign rhetoric (lies), it is completely indefensible... not to mention unethical and not at all in the best interest of the United States of America.

I'd like to see how that impacts the US.

It's the audacity of him tweeting those words after everything he said during the campaign that I can't get my mind around. He attacked Obama for "creating jobs in China". He called them a currency manipulator over and over and over... His own administration implemented those sanctions against ZTE. Trump has no sense of self awareness. He has cognitive dissonance to an extreme. He gets away with it because his base is ignorant of what is going on. He counts on their ignorance and depends on it.

I'm going to solve this for you right now. See...people say things to get what they want and don't necessarily follow through with them. Like did you ever tell a sibling you were going to kill them when in reality you probably just slapped them around a bit? So in politics when people are running for office they say what they think their supporters want to hear. If you actually believe a politician is going to do what he says 100% of the time then, I have this sweeeeeeeet piece of beach front property for sale real cheap in South Dakota for you!

The absence of the usual suspects here speaks volumes. There's no defending yet more corruption from the TCS (Trump Crime Syndicate LLC). Guess they're all waiting to get their spin from Fox & Frauds.

Of all the things that have arisen so far under the Trump administration, this will be the hardest thing to explain away. The timing of China's $500 million loan to help build the Trump-branded project in Indonesia in conjunction with his tweet Sunday is hard to miss. In a later tweet, Trump even notes his 'personal relationship' with President Xi of China... What could that possibly be referring to, I wonder?

...and as I said earlier, it's his own commerce department which levied these sanctions against ZTE. Trump is now imploring that same department to lift the sanctions and help restore jobs to this Chinese government-owned business. And this same Chinese company was guilty of violating sanctions we had imposed against Iran and North Korea. This is blatant corruption/conflict of interest.

Small stuff? A $500 million loan to help finance a Trump-branded project? To remove sanctions from a government-owned business which had violated sanctions that had been imposed against Iran and North Korea?

:good!:

Some of us have actually speculated that the ZTE issue was used as leverage over China on DPRK. I’ve in fact mentioned that to you I believe. But I also labeled it speculation. You on the other hand take your own speculation on this topic, label it as fact, and demand we answer for it. GTFO with that crap.

Also, destroying ZTE will incite a response from China that isn’t good for anybody. Weren’t you guys just lecturing us about a trade war with China? Destroying ZTE will bring that in spades.

Just like your bull**** Mueller witch hunt ZTE is worth more as a bargaining chip than destroyed.

North Korea gains more by this then even China does. China did not just wake up one morning and decide to help us with the N Korea problem. They got something out of this. And, IMO, the only country that could get N Korea to the table was China. Trump is going to pull out all the stops, to try to get, what could be one of the largest foreign policy achievements of the last 50 year.

Yes. Actually, all throughout the 2016 campaign, Trump was cautioned that his rhetoric would lead to that very thing... Yet, he never tempered his threats. Has he all of a sudden discovered diplomacy? Or is there another factor at work here?

So you've got two different explanations here for the ZTE carve out deal. 1) The Chinese may have conditioned their help with North Korea on such a deal; 2) Trump agreed to it in exchange for $500 million in Chinese financial support for a project in Indonesia which would benefit Trump because he is part of the project.

Even if # 1 is correct, and which is pure speculation, Trump as President has a duty to have divested himself from interest in such projects if for no other reason than to avoid the appearance of impropriety. This has long been a criticism of him, and is it fully deserved -- he has not separated himself from the potential of making money by altering US policy.

Plenty of other factors at work possibly including personal gain. As for the sudden discovery of diplomacy it is nothing new for Trump - it's how he negotiates. We see it in every deal but somehow now it's a sinister sign? Please.

I agree with bolded but this is not unique to Trump. The person he beat was in the exact same boat. Both are wrong and should be held to the same standard.
