Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

A student should not post anything on social media showing him armed and shooting a gun unless he WANTS to be called in and questioned. Plus, he was told repeatedly that he had done nothing wrong.

I think all students are aware that in today's climate, posting gun activity on social media is a guaranteed ticket to visit the resource officer.

In which case he should have never been there.

For someone that claims they're are not against taking all guns away you seem pretty set on harassment being cool for someone legally shooting a weapon in a controlled environment where a professional is teaching them how to properly handle and fire that weapon. Not to mention he explained in detail what and who he was doing it with.

Your cover was blown awhile back, I guess you figured you would double down on stupid. Congrats on success.:hi:

lol....doesn't work that way. Some people fear (are threatened by) spiders, snakes, dogs, sky diving, rock climbing, scuba diving, lightening, Muslims, guys in hoodies, guns, illegal immigrants......others would say those fears are completely unfounded.

so are we interrogating kids who post photos/videos of them?

If stupidity is the currency with which we are playing, then I'm cashing in. There is no way I can compete with you guys.

Yes! Lets get people for their dreams! We can call it the Dream Police! Hopefully the kid isn't playing some kind of cheap trick on you though..

What don't you understand about "your feelz don't matter"?

It doesn't matter what you feel is threatening (or your scared of) if someone doesn't explicitly make a threat to you, you are not being threatened.

Not that I expect an intelligent answer but given his statement attachment to the video, for what good reason should he have been interrogated by LE? Keeping in mind the guy that actually took life had legit red flags that didn't seem to matter before hand. It's almost like the dead people part is not really the issue you claim it is.

And yours would be?

Mine would be to not be so stupid. Because just like your side of the equation is prone to doing, give an inch, they take a mile.

Before long, some busybody parent or student will be reporting "I saw Johnny looking at a Guns and Ammo mag at the store!" Then you get some chowderhead that questions Johnny about his intent.

Don't even think I'm building a strawman here. That's darn sure what'll happen.

Speaking of irrational fears, I've noticed many on this board are paralyzed by the reality that lines (usually arbitrary) must be drawn.....and someone has the job of drawing those lines.

Says the guy who says a picture of a legal activity should warrant investigation.

If the kid was sitting on the hood of a Ferrari would the cops pull him out of class to talk about speeding?

Common sense won't make sense.

I understand perfectly well.

A student posts a picture of himself holding a gun with a caption saying "I'm about to lose it." Should that be taken as a threat?

What if instead the caption said, "see you at school tomorrow."?

What if it said, "I'm taking out 19."

Should any of these be taken by school officials as threats?

Got to draw a line.

What if the kid says "I'm sick of this, I'm taking people out"?

But none of that is what happened here. No threats. Yet you are ok with this bc some got scared. That’s very sad.

Entering this thread late and too lazy to go back and read if it's been mentioned, but if a kid posts something you question, why not contact his parents and let them, you know, parent. Would be a far better option than involving school officials or LEOs, imo.

Let's just use this one it being front and center. Don't need the what if.

"It was great learning about our inalienable right of #2A and how to properly use a gun. This was my first time ever touching a gun and it made me appreciate the #Constitution even more. My instructor was very informative; I learnt a lot. #2A is important and we need 2 preserve 2A"

Did the kid in question do any of the above?

Don’t move the goalposts Luther.

No one is moving the goal post.

You are avoiding the question.

I've already stated a few times that if the kid has nothing in his past to peak suspicion, then the school over reacted and the people should be dealt with accordingly.

If the kid has things in his past that we don't know about, then they may have acted appropriately.

We do not know the whole story.

Now how about you go back and answer my question.

Okay, investigate properly.

AND AS A MINOR.

Don't give me this In Loco Parentis bull**** and explain to me why any school thinks the law stops applying to them just because that kid's on school grounds. If the threat is extreme enough, you call the ****ing parents and you have them sit in the interview. Because it isn't the ****ing school that's going to pay for a ****ing defense lawyer.

But no, in this situation, those three bullies, yes, BULLIES went completely unprofessional and out of line on a teenage kid doing nothing more than exercising his Constitutional Rights. He did NOTHING wrong. And I don't give a hootie darn how much you think a minor firing an AR-15 is wrong. They wouldn't get away with that **** with an adult. But a young impressionable kid who doesn't even know what he did wrong? Let's gang up on him. Succinctly put,

IT! IS! HIS! RIGHT!

And was supervised and under the direction of a trainer while at that range.

How dare the same department that has ****ed this up since day one even remotely think they have any standing to question a minor. I'd have a lawsuit against them so fast, that ****head Israel wouldn't know what hit him. And if the school interfered? There'd be all sorts of legal carnage getting spewed. While you might want to give up control of your kids to the state, there are plenty of people that just won't tolerate that ****. Too many parents for too long have given up control of their children to the faceless monster called "School." And schools think they can do whatever the eff they want since apathetic fools like yourself just don't care enough to put a stop to it.

No, if they questioned my child for some BS like what happened? You'd better believe they get a storm in return.

I've answered that one multiple times.
