I'm really hoping Alabama goes after Sweeney whenever Saban retires and not Pruitt. If I got hired by Alabama as their head football coach and Tennessee came calling, I wouldn't care what kind of program I'd built at Alabama, my rear end is headed to Knoxville. I'd be nothing more than a hired gun at Alabama. Got at inkling that Pruitt might be the same way.
Hyams and Adams need to go cover Ogre and LSU. Permanently. That's more their speed. Out with the trash media.
JG was significantly better. Timing will improve as they go through camp. Just a reminder that back shoulders and jump balls are built into the O and the QB's arsenal in today's schemes/techniques.
CJP will get better with the communication/media. He's learning as well. But he is a breath of fresh air as a real football coach. It appears his staff gets it as well. Saw a much better offensive scheme even though it was scaled back. The D was plain vanilla. They wanted to see who would compete at a high level without benefit of overdoing the scheming.
Expect to see some guys leaving, IMO. Time to prune the herd.
So I'm trying to find a rerun of the game today on the SEC network. Can't find a rerun of our spring game for the next few days, but they've decided to rerun the Alabama and Georgia spring games like 5 times a piece over the same time period. That's called irrelevancy.
I don't know what you have against JG, but that is not what I saw today. He looked very confident and accurate when he threw it over the middle. He put the ball where he was supposed to on the 50/50 balls. You made it sound like he was bailed out by the receivers and that is not what happened at all. He missed a few throws for sure and he still does hold it too long, but I think he is almost definitely our starter against WVU.
So....
When he's honest about the media, we love it.
When he's honest about expectations of the players, we love it.
When he's honest about expectations of fans, not so much.
We love his straight shooting, until it's aimed at us.
I love challenging everyone like Pruitt is doing, fans, lettermen, players, coaches.
Hell I wont lie, I thought dang should I have made the drive 4 hours to the game right after I read his quote.
If 37k more of us show up does that sway a recruit or help our guys play harder or get someones attention. Maybe. Does it make us bad fans or non loyal fans if we dont show up, no. Do I like theirs a coach thats willing to challenge us, hell yeah.
Pruitt, in his short time here, comes off as just as dorky as Butch, except Butch was all-positive and Pruitt is all-negative.
All that matters at the end of the day is winning, though. And Ive seen nothing to suggest we wont do it.

I do enjoy his honesty, but you don't understand this? Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
He doesn't need to care about the media (although they could be beneficial at some point). The players have to accept his coaching and trust him to get them to the next level. The fans? They bring in the money. Without donations, tickets, concessions, etc., the program doesn't exist. Just how that works.
The fans are the one group that you use some tact with. Just the way it is.
I love that we now have a true football coach, but I think he still has some learning to do. I just don't think he should have gone there. The attendance at the spring game was no different than the last 20 years.

I don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama...
And our HC REALLY shouldn't (or at least act like it).
Cmon, who in the hell cares? Find something else to nit pick about. Damn
Some of yall Act like Majors never mentioned Pitt, or every other coach that wasnt born or raised in TN, hasnt mentioned some other program.
It happens. Hes a FIRST TIME HC. Hes going to have growing pains.
Geez give the guy a break
Finally Got a coach that demands excellence
Why are people upset
He knows what the possibilities are at Tennessee and wants nothing but the best and Tennessee has the potential to be on of the top schools in the nation.... Im talking Bama/Clemson level every year
He will get what he wants when he demands excellence on the field. He doesn't need to remind us that we need to support our program. Our fan base redirected a coaching hire, and he benefitted. If you improve it, we will come.
