Pruitt not happy with Spring Game attendance

This is what I think CJP was talking about . I also believe there’s going to be a learning curb , if we want to compete against Georgia and Alabama . When you look at those two teams the word “ soft” or “underdeveloped “ does not come to mind .

I wouldn't be offended. I'd see this as more of a challenge.

And when it comes to challenges, I always have the mentality that the ones who do challenge us are the ones who care and the ones that don't, do not actually give a crap.

That's just my 2 cents though

My "centiments" exactly.

I'm guessing you weren't there today.

I like Pruit. He did say that some fans had a legit reason not to be there. I wasnt, we had ball practice. But fans getting butt hurt over this is stupid. It was message to fans that things gonna need to change. Message to players that they are soft.

If this is true then Pruitt can absolutely suck it! To be top 3 in the SEC in attendance and top 5 nationally after coming off the worst season in program history and a complete clown show of a coaching search, I'm damn proud of our turnout today! Honestly Pruitt, get a clue!

Were you there? If so, he wasn’t talking to you

When he shows us they can win games that matter then he can lecture the fanbase. Just shut it and win

He didnt tell the truth. He showed his ass over something he obviously has no perspective on. Geez I see the blind coach worship has already started with some. I want Pruitt to succeed here but I'm going to call his ass out too if I think he's wrong. In this case hes way out of line!

We’ll care more about what you think later. :boredom:

You honestly think he’s out of line for wanting more fan support and his team not to quit on him and themselves ? Maybe he didn’t put enough “individuals “ in his coach speak for you

When I see Nebraska getting almost 90k with a new head coach and Georgia selling out last year, I definitely think we can do better.

I like that coach Pruitt has just as much high expectations for us fans as he does the players. We'll show out more people next spring game.

I'm also proud of the people who did show up, we brought in more than Butch's first Spring Game!

Yeah it's crazy to think that Nebraska brought in 90k

Then again, there's nothing but corn out there.

Sad post but honest talk does hurt some people.

I'm in Nashville. Finally got a nice Spring weekend that I'm not knotted up with business. I could've driven over and brought a few seat fillers with me. If we'd hired Gruden, I would've been there and would've expected to pay for the privilege. If we'd hired Leach, I'd make the drive for a freebie event. To watch Pruitt, they would've had to pay me at least a weeks salary. Let me know when the coaching search is back on.

And you know what, we wanted an honest coach, and we got one.

That's not honesty though. That's just being an ass towards a long-suffering fanbase that, despite a decade of embarrassment, STILL managed a top 5 spring game Nationally. He lacks perspective of what this fan base has been through. I'm glad he's demanding of his players, as he should be. But calling out the fans was uncalled for! We bring it year after year!

You obviously skipped out on the game with no good reason. Sad!

His "perspective" is a school that has kicked OUR @$$ on the field for 11 years straight, wins tons of NC's, and STILL beats us in spring attendance #'s. Call him out if you want, but reactions like this just prove the man's point.

I mean if we wanna nitpick, he did say that there were some fans who couldn't be here for legitimate reasons and maybe that's you.

I'm not sure why you're getting hurt about the the SOME fans who should've been here and wasn't part.

Unless subconsciously you knew you could've been here and didn't show up. I'm starting to think you may not actually be mad a Pruitt, but mad at yourself for not showing up? Other wise, why would you be mad?

Here's the quote again for reference: “Our fans today were like our football team. Some were here and doing great, some weren’t here for legitimate reasons, and some should have been here and weren’t. That sounds just like our team.”

Agreed. I was there and I think his comment was out of line. Don’t insult the fan base, especially after the crap we’ve been subjected to. He needs to shut his mouth.
