It’s not that I’m not high on Fromm. I just don’t think he was asked to do much of anything for that offense. He will have to do a lot more this year if you all are going to have a season like last year.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you have to replace both starting RBs, two starting OL including LT. and top WR?

Fromm wasn't asked to carry the load, but he performed extremely well for a true freshman who wasn't even the starter during spring and fall. He picked up the offense very fast and he made good decisions and was able to think under pressure. Doesn't have a rifle arm, but he's very accurate.

As for OL, we lost Wynn at LT and Simms who was a 6th man, but we have lots of talented guys with time in the system to fill those spots. Andrew Thomas will move from RT to LT this year and Isaiah Wilson will probably step in at RT. I expect the OL to be really solid and TE's are good. Receivers are as deep and talented as we've had in a long time, and 3 of the RB's have good experience. Fromm will improve with an offseason as the starter and he has plenty of help IMO.

A 5 star freshman equals a 3 star junior IMO. Not always the case, but that's true more often than not. There will be plenty of mental mistakes on defense.

So what's your W/L expectation? I think you'll have a chance in all of your games, but @Williams Bryce and @Death Valley are no gimmes, despite Carolina and LSU being in a tier below elite.

(Welcome to the board btw, I like seeing what other fans have to say)

i think GA's schedule is two games...USCe and Auburn.

i'll put LSU in the toss up category, cause it's down there. but i'd be surprised if they're not favored in that one too. i don't think LSU is going to be all that great.

Why do all these Ga fans keep coming on here? I don’t get it

DawgInterloper is possibly the only UGA fan I don't have on ignore. He is on permanent double secret probation though due to the transgressions of his fellow butt sniffers.

I don't spend too much time trying to predict outcomes because I don't know enough about the teams we play. Too many factors with new players, new coaches, injuries, etc. Our offense is potentially very good, but the defense will be fair to middling is my best guess. An average defense is not the usual recipe for an SEC championship season, but we'll see how they turn out.

Yeah, if it were in Athens, I'd say UGA easily. I still think Georgia beats LSU, because LSU doesn't seem to have the trenches that they did a few years ago.

Maybe this is just cynical kickback on my part, but I'm more sold on USC having a temporary down year, rather than continuing the upward trend without a hitch. Just a hunch, but I feel like an 18yo sophomore starting SEC QB is a prime candidate for a soph slump. And their schedule ain't a peach towards the back half.. A&M, BYE, Tennessee, @Ole Miss, @Florida, cupcake, @Clemson. They will still probably be favored to beat us, but I don't know if they finish 2nd or 3rd in the division with those last six games.

BREAKING: In an unprecedented move, the SEC has just announced that due to uncertainties with Georgia's defense, Tennessee will no longer play Georgia during the 2018 season and, instead, will play Alabama a second time.

Don't forget the 3rd meeting in ATL this December.

i think Bentley is a jr this season....20 years old now....he was a tru fr when they beat us in 2016.

if there is a window for USCe to get to ATL, it probably is this year.

they have some sneaky games on the schedule, especially early, that if they get thru, it sets up for the opportunity to make a run on the back half of the schedule. that goes well, and the clemson game could have fairly large implications....

Crap, really? Sonofagun, ignore the sophomore slump part then. I still think they struggle a little, though.

no worries, he's still a kid.

as for them struggling, i think those 1st 3 SEC games are pretty big for them. UK, aTm, and Ole Miss. 3 games that if USCe is what some think they are, they probably should win.

and if they are 3-0 in the conf after that, depending on what you've seen from MO, TN and FL, you can then see a path for them going 6-2 or 7-1 in the conf.

lose 1 or 2 of those 1st 3 SEC games, and you start to wonder....

Since we've got a bit of a lull in football stuff...

Anyone live near the Calfkiller River? I'm looking to maybe do some scouting for archaeological fieldwork in the area south of Monterrey.

Really wish I was going to be in Knox this weekend. Buddy of mine convinced his fiancé to do a spring wedding instead of fall for football reasons and it still ends up screwing up my football plans in the end. :dunno:
