Recruiting Discussion

Agreed. We shouldn't have any trouble getting a good one. However it gets more difficult to get one you will approve of because of their paper ranking. The higher the ranking the more they expect to see a roster with starting probabilities immediately.

You're wrong.

And we aren't gonna be fishing in those waters in 2019 anyway. 5* want immediate playing time. The Trae Golden's and Jordan McRae's of the world do not. They want a path to playing time and not to sign up to be in a log jam.

This is the exact kinda thing I've been talking about. Complete bull****. Strawman angle that's on display daily in this forum.

Bs man.

Over and over and over again you have said Barnes must improve his recruiting and now you saying as long as he recruits the same level players as before you approve?

Talking out of both sides of your mouth dude

If you pull the PG’s ranked 75-150 nationally from the 2018 class not many are likely starting this year.

90 AJ Green Northern Iowa...starter Juwan McCloud returns
93 David Dejulius Michigan...starter Zavier Simpson returns
94 Jaelin Llewellyn Princeton...likely starter
95 Prentiss Hubb Notre Dame...starter Temple Gibbs returns
98 Kendric Davis TCU...starter Jaylen Fisher returns
99 Robert Phinisee Indiana...starter Devonte Green returns
100 Tyger Campbell UCLA...likely starter
125 Jared Butler Alabama...return Dazon Ingram
129 Alex Lomax Memphis...return Jeremiah Martin, add Tyler Harris
133 Jordan Lathon Northwestern...likely starter
139 Logan Johnson Cincinnati...returns Justin Jennifer
143 Jordan McCabe West Virginia...likely starter
147 Marcus Zegarowsmi Creighton...returns Davion Mints
150 Tyrese Halliburton Iowa State...returns Lindell Wigginton

He has said over and over and over Barnes must improve recruiting. Our guards on the current roster are filled with 75-150 guys.

We all can agree we need to keep it that way. If so Barnes doesn't need to improve his recruiting just maintain it which Ziti has repeatedly disagreed with

I’ll finish the rest later

Starting looking at PG

Went through 45 - 90 in 2017

Rank Player GS MPG Team
47 Makai Ashton Langford 4 13.1 Providence
39 Paul Scruggs 0 16.8 Xavier
62 Isaiah Washington 4 20 Minnesota
63 Davion Mitchell 0 17.1 Auburn
73 Wabissa Bede 0 8.3 Va Tech
78 Chris Lykes 10 21.6 Miami

These guys combined for 18 starts

Lol at filled with 75-150 guys

We have exactly 1 guy who sees minutes for us in the top 150 on rivals and he was 146.

Lol.

The ones where you said Barnes had to improve?

I guess that means you woudnt approve

Lamonte - unranked by rivals but I would consider him to be right at 150 because I think that's what he was before reclassifying

Bone - 146

Bowden - unranked

Jalen Johnson - 130 (has barely played for us)

Daniel - grad transfer

Darrington - juco 3*

What you are trying to do is drill down to one or two guys and say "Oh so you wouldn't be pleased with a recruit like that?"

My stance has been the entire time that he needs to do a little bit better. That doesn't mean we nitpick the 3 highest rated guys on the roster and say "oh you're not satisfied with a guy ranked 146?"

You don't have a clue what you're talking about and the fact that BTO isn't chiming in to help you here should raise a flag on your BS stance.

Ok so as a whole you are fine with us having 1 top 100 player at gaurd(i am
Counting Pons) with the rest being 100-150??

If that is the case I agree with you wholeheartedly and have zero reason to believe Barnes can't continue the status quo
