Yeah I'm disappointed in this as well. There really are no "nosebleed" seats at Bank of America stadium - all the seats offer a great view.

That said... while I can afford it, I would feel sick to my stomach actually paying 400-500+ total for tickets/concessions to go to a football game. If I were to pay that much, I'd rather see them play against a rival.

So while I might change my mind and get tickets down the line, right now my thinking is I'll simply pass and instead opt to watch the game at home. 50+ inch HD TVs make at home experiences pretty enjoyable anyways.

i'm going to that game come hell or high water. now, i'm really hoping a buddy of mind comes thru with some club seats and i won't have to worry about much except parking.

but if that falls thru, i'll probably buy tix on the street on game day.

need vol nation to show up. mountaineer nation will. the buddy referenced above is a big WVU fan. tons of WVU folks in CHR, just like there's tons of UT folks.

need it split in the stadium at worst.

Well, I won’t be on campus or in the press box at UT games any more, so hopefully that gives them some good juju.

It's not you. It's me. Next fall will be the first time since 2009 I won't be a student at UT so I'm hoping the storm cloud goes with me.

now that I live in ATL its different but when I was in jax, I'd pay 1k easy for a game after it was all said and done. theres something about the atmosphere.

eh,i see some UK around town. but no more than i do anyone else. in the SEC, i see more USCe, GA, FL and TN than KY.

and of course all the UNC bball fans that just so happen to be Bama football fans.

those guys suck.

Not all of them...

well, 7-0 game 1 not withstanding, i'm not convinced we make it to the cup final this year. i think Boston and Washington are really good (though if we get Washington in the 2nd round, i'm calling that series now lol). and tampa may be the team to beat when all is said and done.

you may get your cup this year, but i don't think it will be at the expense of the pens.

if it's Washington and Nashville, i'll be pulling for the preds for sure.

I just don’t see Washington going far in the playoffs with Trotz as coach.

Recruiting season gets earlier and earlier. This has never been truer with the installation of the early signing period. Great classes have early foundations of commitments for the most part. And we need a great class.

Hell, the 2020 cycle's already starting based on our visitors this weekend.

WVU fans travel pretty well. Went to a Texas tailgate when they came to Austin and they were everywhere. Surprisingly nice fans. Didn't see any stuff you might see from gator fans.

I could be talked into it. Hell I'll probably go. Just wish I knew fellow Vols fans in the area to roll with. I'd rather punch myself in the nuts for three hours than go with my current girlfriend. Tried watching the Super Bowl with her.... painful.

Yeah, I'm with you. I can't stomach even going just for myself. After concessions and everything I would be well over $200 for just 1 football game. Hopefully they bring the price way down (half the price right now) as I have been looking forward to going to this game for a while now.

I feel your pain. I'd have to explain everything to mine. She isn't a sports person at all. Bless her.

yeah, i went to the last backyard brawl between them and Pitt in morgantown. mostly nice. but make no mistake....that fan base is red neck as hell.

we'll probably get along famously.

Lol "Yeah, compared to championship-level teams, Tennessee is sucks"...

How about they compare the team now to like, other currently more evenly matched teams, like Mizzou or Purdue or Duke or something.. It hurts to compare us to any of those teams, but it gives us better context than "Let's compare a down team to the best in the country". Dumbasses

Mandell actually has a high view of what Tennessee football can and should be. He expresses that from time to time on the show. So he views Bama, Georgia and Clemson as our peers. So you are right, he was basically saying we have a long way to go before we hit their level and it won’t be fixed in one or two recruiting cycles. He’s not wrong there. But I don’t think this year will be as bad as he does.

i'm fortunate in that regard, my wife, being from Pittsburgh, is to her Steelers as i am to the Vols. so she gets it, and understands the game enough that i actually prefer going to games with her.

Haha that they are. I ended up ditching my friends and hanging out at one of their tailgates for a while. Very redneck. Good times.

I just checked ticket prices for our game against WVU in football. $167 for cheapest seats in the nosebleeds. Seems a bit too high. Hopefully they come down so I can afford to go.

I bit the bullet and used some wvu connections up here to buy tix. Albeit, I'll be on wvu side, we got lower level club house seats on the 40 for $200 ea. Atleast the wvu fans I'm going with will enjoy that side! I'll enjoy the pissing and moaning when we win! GBO!

Huge understatement!! Drunk fuggin idiots is more like it!

The starting D-Line is good and will make our O-like much better for having to work against them on the regular. Now if we have any injuries on either line...

Honestly, I really like our defense outside of the huge ?? at CB.

D-Line starting group is the best group on our defense, but also the thinnest as we don’t really have any experienced depth there. If Tuttle stays healthy, he will be drafted in the top 3 rounds. He is so good. Kongbo and Phillips are also very suited to being 3-4 DEs. I expect big things from that starting group.

LB is solid and has a few exchangeable pieces. Getting Taylor away from the OTs so that he can utilize his athleticism even more to get to the QB is a no brainer. We know what we have if we get a healthy Kirkland and Bituli. Sapp makes plays even if he doesn’t have prototypical size. The addition of Peterson and possible emergence of guys like Ignont and Bates has this group as probably our deepest.

Safety has a star in Warrior and then a couple guys that can fill that other spot— I think Theo Jackson could be a player there, he has looked pretty good so far. TKjr is a leader and if he can get healthy and regain some of his lost speed with better S&C could make things happen. Abernathy is not very physical, but he is very athletic.

At CB Buchanan has been consistent, but I have no clue what we have there after that. We have a lot of guys that could be the man, but I really just don’t know who is going to be the one to step up and who will be ready to be the third man up. There is talent available, but this far— maybe due to schemes— it has been squandered. Pruitt likes for his CBs to play more press man. I tend to like tight man coverage more myself, so this is good with me. It’s much better than the near 10 yards of buffer our DBs have given WRs over the last couple years. Our guys have to get used to this philosophy change though because if you allow the WR to release from the line of scrimmage too easily they will burn you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on what you are seeing. I really appreciate it.
