On The Clock: Tennessee Safety Rashaan Gaulden | Dallas Cowboys

Even if you’re not a cowboys fan, this is a good review of Gaulden. Brian Brauddous writes some really good scouting reports. He’s not as good on camera, but a solid writer.

I'm a huge Gaulden fan, so I like the praise, but as a former Cowboys fan familiar with Broaddus -he's kind of an idiot.

Now, I'm willing to concede he knows far more about scouting than I'll ever claim to. That said, read his write ups for just about every Cowboys signing ever. He's never seen a player he doesn't like.

He was a scout for the Cowboys in the early 2000's when their drafts were putrid. Cowboys hired Parcells, and Parcells promptly fired him. Hasn't held a scouting job since.

I just listened to this week’s audible podcast with Stewart Mandell and Bruce Feldman. Mandell visited Tennessee and watched a practice and visited coaches. When asked to essentially compare Tennessee to his other stops at Bama, Clemson and Georgia, he said Tennessee is a complete bottoms up rebuild and he wouldn’t be surprised at another 4-8 season. He said the cupboard is completely bare and implied the coaches have very low expectations.

And he got this out of the 8 to 10 minutes Pruitt allows for the media? BS.

A snippet from Rutherford for all the posters who are predicting our whole starting dline get drafted.

One grouping in the defensive line who didn’t draw the ire of Rocker was Kyle Phillips, Shy Tuttle, and Jonathan Kongbo. Those three showed some great tenacity and toughness today. Paul Bain showed off some leadership as well.

That Champions of Life comment is going to follow UT around for the rest of it's existence. Thanks Butch.

Hopefully, we will start kicking some tail in a year or two and shut up the wannabe fanbases. I can almost handle Georgia or Bama fans giving us crap, but the also rans in the SEC like Vandy, SC, and Missouri make me physically ill.

I fully expect idiots like Wolken to do everything that they can to make us look bad.

We know more than them. It’s amazing we pay any attention to National guys any time they speak about us.

They don’t follow our team. Stewart Mandell doesn’t know jack about squat when it comes to Tennessee football.

Intern Butch has to buy his own gear.

His Twitter account may be the best in history. I just clicked on the account she tagged and it is amazing. This one was from their white house visit.

Yeah, I didn’t completely agree with the analysis. He was very dismissive and went on to say they hope to getter grad transfers to help. Feldman sounded surprised he was so negative and piped in to name Warrior and Callaway as good players. But Mandell was adamant he thought this was a bad team, and that Pruitt wasn’t being done any favors because he will inevitably be compared to Smart, who won 8 then took his team to the national title game his second year.

For my part I think a bowl game is doable, but I don’t dismiss negative media reports anymore. It’s possible we will really suck.

The players that everybody's calling terrible now are the same players that had everybody excited when they committed. It has become trendy to hate on Tennessee. It'll be a real bummer to the media when we're actually good again. And we don't even have to be good to beat 7 teams on our schedule. Their players aren't any better than ours.

If both Brooks and Locklear are gonna miss more than a week, then all the moves from DL to OL might be necessary just to have an O&W game that the coaches can gleen anything from.

Yeah I don't think it's a huge deal and maybe 1 or 2 of them thrive in the new position.
