Don't think I am buying that JG had multiple interceptions. CJP made it a point to mention more than once that the offense protected the ball well in his interview and I just don't buy that he would have said that if there was multiple interceptions by the #1 QB.

There’s a difference between a QB throwing into coverage and a receiver letting it bounce off his pads. Sounds like the defense was making some big plays rather than JG throwing ducks.

So TKjr? Any chance he could factor in?

I'm not sure he takes a starting spot from Warrior or Abernathy. I do think his instincts are better than Abernathy's, but athletically I'm not sure if he's exactly what the coaches are looking for at safety. There have been some whispers that a lot of his struggles the past two seasons have been due to some undisclosed injuries that slowed him down greatly. Hopefully that was the case and he can come back and have a strong 2018.

If he can play at a high level, it could potentially be big for the DBs, IMO. Being able to rely on Warrior and Kelly at safety could maybe allow the coaches to move around Abernathy or maybe Jackson to NB and Shamburger to CB. Not sure how likely that is. But Pruitt has been pretty explicit about wanting to their best guys to be able to play multiple positions at DB and I doubt we see our entire secondary stay healthy for the whole season.

Could have been one of those situations where a WR runs a wrong route or the timing was off or something, too. They mentioned Gray almost had a pick 6 and most pick sixes happen on quick hitting passes where a DB doesn't have many offensive players in front of him to get in his way for the return.

Still, it's all speculation at this point. We're not gonna have any idea how the QBs are really doing and who's looking like the starter until a few minutes prior to kickoff against WVU, IMO. And I don't blame Pruitt a bit for that. WVU having a lack of knowledge about what to prepare for may be our biggest advantage going into that game.

I'm pretty intrigued with Maliek Gray at corner. He has that NFL corner size. Can't wait to watch us play bigger in the secondary.

He's the kind of player that could change the defense quickly if he thrives there.

Gray at Cb is definitely intriguing (especially given that some pegged him as maybe being too stiff to play safety and a potential LB down the road).

Here's hoping the light comes on for him and he's able to make an impact there!

Not with Fulmer on board. He knows Pruitt needs a minute. A healthy 2019 team that misses a bowl game will mean CJP gets the hotseat treatment.

I’m not saying he will be fired. I’m just saying our fans will either eat him alive or quit on him.

He didn’t throw any interceptions but was sacked 11 times on the day

Been out for awhile. Anybody have an update on Darren Kirkland for me? Is he injured? Or around? What's the deal with him?

DL is unstoppable? I like it. Kongbo is going to turn into a day 1 draft pick after this fall.

I can't wait to watch this team man. I truly don't care how many games we actually win. I just want to see us bust some heads again.

It's a new beginning! Some folks acting like we're already at the end.

Gah stop being such a fan Swanson. Don't you know we're supposed to hate everything about this team

Yeah fans went all in on the last two guys and won’t be as patient this time around.

I’m gonna try to keep everything in perspective as much as possible, but if we miss a bowl this year, I’ll probably be at least halfway off the Pruitt bus.

Maybe I’m unrealistic, but unless we get boned with injuries again, I just don’t think a good coach should miss a bowl with this team. Good coaches have done more with as much or less.

Even if we do miss a bowl, I’ll try to wait and see what Pruitt does recruiting and shows us in 2019, but if he can’t get to 8+ wins in 2 years, we’ll know he’s on borrowed time most likely.

Eh. We’re middle of the pack not even factoring in depth.

Really think some folks are overplaying how much talent this team has. I think some people think we have 9 or 10 win talent, and we don't IMO. We're middle of the road talent wise in this league with not much depth.
