NO doubt. I saw people posting that we would’ve had a cakewalk to the final four. Maybe (if Alexander doesn’t get injured). I bet Miami, Arizona, Cincinnati, Virginia and Kentucky are all saying the same. Fact is, these chicago kids are tough as hell and have earned their way to this point. Let’s see if they cut the nets tonight. I’m rooting for them.

Just told my bro-in-law the exact same thing. We just happened to get a little unlucky drawing probably the most underrated and under-seeded team in the tourney. Stinks being put out so early, but doesn’t sting as much if that team makes the Final 4.

I don’t find a topic and automatically take the opposing view and I’ve never claimed any “gift” in sports knowledge. But I take my time and am pretty resolved in positions I state. And no one else calling me “delusional” or “clueless” ever affects that. 4Us could have stated he has personal experience with Majors and that’s affected his opinion and I wouldn’t have told him that he didn’t. Throwing in a personal jab at me gets me feisty...it’s not necessary.

I’m just the opposite. It hurts me more knowing if Alexander could have played we had a great shot at the final 4. Not down on the team at all, just ready for some breaks to start going our way.

butchna - I have not ignored you and I plan to keep it that way. Your posts get hard to follow at times and I don't understand you chasing and trashing posters who have different opinions and life experiences than you. Whatever, man, you be you and I'll be me. Accept what I post or not, I really don't care one way or the other. No more jabs, as if you have not been going at my posts for years, because there will be no more responses to your posts after this.

Same here. I realize we were fortunate not to have any serious injuries all season. Just wished it could have continued since the bench was weak at that position. Schofield playing on a gimpy ankle didn't help either. Love where the program is headed though.

tennessee has hired a former sec assistant coach to its football staff. Former georgia and florida state tight ends coach john lilly has joined new coach jeremy pruitt's program and will be the executive assistant to the head coach, sources close to the situation told govols247 on saturday.

Lilly recently was considered for a position in alabama's program as well after spending the 2017 season out of football. The west virginia native spent 10 years (1998-2007) on bobby bowden's staff at florida state as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for the seminoles before he was hired by mark richt at georgia to coach tight ends for the bulldogs.

Lilly spent eight years in athens and spent two of them on the same staff with pruitt, who was georgia's defensive coordinator in 2014 and 2015.

He twice handled the play-calling duties for the bulldogs in bowl games. In 2014 georgia beat louisville 37-14 in the belk bowl with lilly calling the shots after offensive coordinator mike bobo took the colorado state job. The following year, after richt was dismissed in 2015, lilly helped the bulldogs beat penn state 24-17 in the taxslayer bowl.

After georgia moved on from richt and his staff, lilly spent the 2016 season in the nfl with the los angeles rams, where he worked alongside new tennessee running backs coach chris weinke, who coached quarterbacks for the rams.

His reputation as a strong recruiter is evidenced by his all-time commitment list, which is topped by four former five-star recruits, two at his most recent stops. At florida state, lilly was the primary recruiter for defensive back myron rolle and tight end brandon warren, an alcoa product who later transferred back to tennessee.

Lilly's list of georgia recruits is highlighted by wide receiver terry godwin, defensive end jordan jenkins, linebacker roquan smith, safety tray matthews and tight ends orson charles, jeb blazevich and arthur lynch.

The administration, the holier than thou boosters, and the local media that cover up all their lies and stupid decisions are all garbage. It's the reason the football program has been so bad. I hope we've lucked into a good hire with Pruitt.
