D4H's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Best Picks, Best Drafts, and Predictions)

Payne is a surefire first rounder. He's not going in the 2nd round. And there isn't a snowballs chance in hell he makes it to round 3.

I actually have the top 5 DT all rated pretty close to one another.

My top 5 are: Vita Vea (Washington), Da'Ron Payne (Alabama), Tim Settle (Virginia Tech), Harrison Phillips (Stanford), and Taven Bryan (Florida).

All 5 should be first round picks. This is a very strong DT draft.

Curious here -- Does Riley Ferguson get drafted ?

I don't know if he's projected to be drafted but I would draft him. He's a sleeper candidate in this class IMO.

After the big 4 (Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, and Lamar Jackson), the rest of the QBs are projects. Of those, Riley Ferguson is the most intriguing. I'm not sure he can be a starter but I would roll the dice on him before a scrub like Mason Rudolph or a certified backup like Luke Falk.

Just wait and see what happens in the NFL. If guys like Dobbs and Sutton don't have success similar to what I have forecast, then I will take that comment back.

But if they develop into All-Pro players (as I have predicted) then you will have to agree with me that we had all-time talent on the 2015 and 2016 Vols.

Cam, yes

Dobbs I will be surprised if he ever even becomes a long term starter tbh

I think Josh Allen is the best QB in this draft, but I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I think Josh Allen is who the Jets traded up to #3 for, just based on his interest in the transaction.

Need a 2018 thread

I’m positive 2001 Miami had more All Pro guys even if Dobbs and Sutton pan out

The following players from the 2001 Miami team made at least one All-Pro team:

RB Clinton Portis
RB Frank Gore (potential HOF)
WR Andre Johnson (potential HOF)
TE Jeremy Shockey
DT Vince Wilfork
S Ed Reed (HOF lock)
S Sean Taylor
S Antrell Rolle

I expect the following players from the 2016 Vols to make at least one All-Pro team:

QB Joshua Dobbs (HOF talent)
RB Alvin Kamara (HOF talent)
RB John Kelly
LB Daniel Bituli
LB Darrin Kirkland Jr.
CB Cameron Sutton (HOF talent)
S Nigel Warrior
KR Evan Berry

Both teams would have 8 All-Pros each and 3 Hall of Famers. Looks pretty equal to me.

Really that looks equal to you?

It’s pretty obvious one team is far better then the other

Also I would add Willis McGahee to Miami. Even with the bad knee injuries he still had a very good career making multiple pro bowls and running for 1000+ for a couple different teams in the Bills, Ravens, and Broncos

Miami list don’t have any busts lol that will never happen again

It’s the all potential team vs the all time team

Seeing guys who haven’t even gotten a all sec selection being compared to Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Andre Johnson, Frank Gore and Vince Wilfork is just wrong.

You must think Butch Jones is one hell of a talent evaluator cuz that’s 5 of the best players the NFL has seen in my 30 years

You really reaching on this one lol

Now that the Browns have signed Hyde to a $30M contract, I'll be shocked if they don't go QB with the first pick and if they think Tyrod Taylor is a fit for their system, their target must be Allen, right?

Or were they planning on going Barkley #1, then Allen? It is a 2 RB league, and they got money to burn.

You forgot McGahee. Who else did you forget?

Actually I would take the Tennessee players because I believe Josh Dobbs will be the Michael Jordan of the NFL. He'll be better than anybody from that Miami team.

Just wait and see. You guys are placing value on college success right now. Which is why you think what I'm proposing is preposterous. But just look at what happened with Alvin Kamara. A guy who wasn't even starting in college won NFL Rookie of the Year.

I think Darnold’s their guy. They’ll most likely draft him #1 and hope Barkley falls to #4...which he should. Giants could go Allen or (or because they’re the Giants) go with Quenton Nelson who I dream about slipping to the Bears but know better. Jets supposedly like Allen, Darnold and Rosen in that order. Most draft guru’s hold up to that narrative but the renegades keep floating Baker Mayfield.

Tomlin beaming at Mason Rudolph’s pro day. He’s the Steelers pick on a few mocks already.

I can see the glee in your post hoping this comes true.

You guys sure do love rooting against Dobbs.

What will you do next year when he's holding up the Lombardi trophy as the starting QB of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers?
