Kahlil declares for draft

I disagree. I think he’s built for NT in the 3-4.

He may be built like a Tarzan for 3-4 NT--but he plays like Jane.....

He's an OL in the NFL or nothing at all....he just don't have "IT" as a DL....

Same thing happened LONG AGO with Richard Cooper....

Tennessee tried to make him a DL, but he was converted into a starting OL in the NFL and did very well....

Maybe the same will happen with Kahlil....I truly hope so...

I remember Richard Cooper. He played both ways in college. This McKenzie OL is a VN pipe dream. He’ll eventually play well at NT...perfectly built for it. He’s never been a penetrating pass rushing DT type. Occupy blockers and plug running lanes. Nice way to make a living.

Had KMac been moved over to OL, I think he would’ve been a guard, not a tackle. KMac is a plugger, a space eater who needs to play in close quarters imo. He doesn’t have the athleticism/feet/explosion to in space imho.

All that said, I couldn’t help but pull big time for him today as I watched a former Vol give great effort in his “events” at the combine. He wasn’t the player I hoped he’d be at Tennessee, but by all accounts he’s a fine young man, and I hope he gets a good opportunity to make living in the nfl and redeems himself with a long, productive career. I’ll be pulling for him big time on draft day and beyond.

Haven’t changed my tune even 1 tiny bit. He was nowhere near the player he was supposed to be at Tennessee, I think it was a mistake that he entered the draft early and I think he’s either drafted in the 7th round or not at all. So you’re wrong as usual, I’m 100% consistent here.

I’m only saying that as a lifelong Vol fan, I couldn’t help but pull hard for him and wish him well. Based on what we saw of him at Tennessee, I think him having a solid nfl career is a long shot at best. He has the physical measurables, he’s a good athlete at his size, he showed that today, although I was surprised that he only repped 225 26 times, thought he’d do well north of 30. What I’m saying here, and all I’m saying here, is that I’m pulling for him to do well and have a solid nfl career.

Another 5 star "beast" that didn't match the hype. I'm not going to say coaching wouldn't have helped, but clearly it didn't stop Barnett, who btw, was not a 5 star recruit if memory serves. Some players are driven and have "it". Those guys end up in the NFL. Hope Mac makes it and proves me wrong, but I don't see the drive, the passion for the game. Sure hope he gets a useful degree from UT. Same deal with Kongbo. All hype.

I honestly believe KMac missing his entire senior season set his development back. Add in the fact that he played under Butch Jones and you get the extreme disappointing career he has had. KMac will probably be a solid player. Especially with good coaching.
