We have entirely too many gun laws on the books now. ANY further action calls for a constitutional convention to repeal the second amendment. Make them show their true intent.

So today we had a 14 y/o arrested at our middle school for carrying a large knive and he had a list of whom he was going to stab. He’s been charged with attempted murder.

Do we ban knives (weapon of war) now?

Our founding fathers 2nd amendment was created in a time when you could shoot 2 to 3 rounds per minute. Most assuredly they would not approve of private citizens having weapons of war that fire several 100 rounds per minute.

They wrote it at a time when civilians had the same weaponry as the military. And your 2 to 3 is vastly uneducated. Puckle guns and some of the Austrian air rifles would shoot considerably faster than that

When the second amendment was written you could order a cannon from a foundry. You could buy kegs of black powder. The gun ownership rate was probably close to 100%. Everyone owned a weapon of war, we would not have won the Revolutionary War otherwise.

Luther we have answered this question multiple times and I stated my stance on it.

Firearm classification is handled by the National Firearm Act of 1934 (Title II designations) and the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Title I designations)

If a firearm is not explicitly covered under Title II then it falls into Title I. All semi automatic repeating firearms fall into Title I with the exception of Short Barrelled Guns.

A Title II weapon is NOT banned. It is highly regulated. I can legally own a machine gun if I go thru the process. Interestingly enough a Title II weapon has only been used in a crime once since the law was passed (last I remember anyway)

We have stated it. The line is drawn at Title I/Title II and that’s it. And you desperately want us to engage you on splitting Title I up and pick and choose. And you desperately want to do that based on rate of fire.

And we have been VERY CLEAR we reject that whole argument. It is already decided (edit: for our side anyway forgot to put that in) ALL Title I weapons are legal and lawful and that’s that!!

I'm with you 100%. If someone has a serious report levied against them they should lose their right to buy guns and have any guns they do have confiscated.

If he'd of used a handgun would you want to ban handguns? If he'd of used a pressure cooker bomb, would you want to ban pressure cookers? If he'd of used a 12 gauge pump shotgun, would you want to na shotguns? If he'd driven his car through the kids when leaving, would you want to ban cars? Maybe you should focus your efforts on what caused him to do it rather than focusing on his tool.
