Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

My husband is working, so I can't ask him right now. So you guys are saying that the guy in the video is running garbage and he can make a gun that shoots a bunch of people very quickly? (Because he did say he was pro-gun just sees that those kinds of weapons should be banned.)

Yup, that second cut will do it.

Good for him, glad he made his own personal choice and feels better about it. But a guy with a pre ban AR and a 2A tattoo has more than 1 firearm. I want to see him cut them all up.

If Y is minutes as I stated earlier then Y needs to be less than 5 or X needs to be greater than about 75 or you have eliminated every single repeating firearm. You either know this and are trolling or you really are that stupid. At this point I’ll believe either.

Not sure I would promote him to troll today. Yesterday, I would have but today, he is just pitiful.

I think he should cut his arm off.

If that is the same gun in the video and he followed up with another cut then he did disable it. If that isn’t the same gun all he did was ruin a barrel, forestock, and gas tube I believe.

I guess enough people were asking for the "scrap" and he got wise.

GV, I would like to further debate our ideas on purchases. I think I have a good idea. Would like your honest shots to put holes in it. Basis is that other than the medical history which I think has to be in future discussions, what isn't already available to Feds?

Are you a member of the NRA? If yes, the blood of these kids is on your hands. Sorry, it's ugly and rude to say, but it's a fact.

The only reason these guns are legal is because of the NRA. You can stomp your feet, hold your breath, call me an *******... none of that changes this truth.

"...Sheriff Israel was honored to visit Anthony Borges, 15, in the hospital today. His family shared that Anthony was shot five times in Wednesday's school attack. Fortunately, he is recovering -- but has a long road ahead with more surgeries needed. Please join us in praying for the swift recovery of Anthony and all the other victims of this horrific criminal act."

I agree with Ape. I’m going to start donating to charities for autism.

At least I'll now be able to sleep tonight.

x = 12 y = 30 Unreasonable?

So a ROF of 24 rounds a minute? Most any semi auto repeating rifle can easily exceed that Luther.

A fully auto M16/AR-15 I believe is capable of around 650-700 rpm. Going semi auto I read somewhere Bushmaster puts their ROF at around 45 rpm. Which is an equivalent trigger pull of about 1.5 seconds per pull just spraying and praying which is really all you are discussing, ROF. That is slow. Any semi auto repeater should be capable of a trigger pull less than once per second. Even with mag changes the effective trigger rate isn’t going to plummet.

THIS is a big reason we’re laughing at you. You are fixated on a meaningless stat.

Because at 12 and 30 you’re still letting me kill 24 people per minute. And killing more than 1 is unacceptable. Thus take the gun out of the shooters hands. If you were actually serious about control and not focused on bans you would know that. But all you are focused on is bans. And the basic numbers I’ve posited here is why I will never agree to banning any type of weapon that meets the requirements of title I/GCA.

(Further stealth edit to try and clean up class, type, etc... as I always butcher this stuff)

Person to person?

Should the buyer have to meet the same check that the original purchaser did?
How would you ever enforce that Jimmy? You depending on the hood rats to be honest and declare their gun sales to the .gov? Maybe we can get them to declare taxes on their drug sales too.

Top 25 Causes of Car Accidents

1. Distracted Driving
The number one cause of car accidents is not a criminal that drove drunk, sped or ran a red light. Distracted drivers are the top cause of car accidents in the U.S. today. A distracted driver is a motorist that diverts his or her attention from the road, usually to talk on a cell phone, send a text message or eat food.
I don't understand why insurance companies put up with this. If I were selling insurance, I would have a clause in there that your policy is null and void if it is proven that cell phones were in use at the time of the accident and you are at fault.

Same thing with smoking and health insurance.

Yeah yea yeah.. slippery slope.

I am interested to hear what you mean by that.

Like a poster mentioned earlier bulletproof doors/windows, doors that lock from the inside, etc? I don’t think that would be a bad idea at all.

So more access points into the school but harder to get into an actual classroom? My only concern would be changing classes, lunch time, etc when students aren’t in classrooms but, like most suggestions, there are gonna be some flaws.

i am thinking opposite of a fire alarm. Something goes down school can be compartmentalized. if your compartment is threatened there are still ways out. otherwise those doors just stay open during usual hours.

imo any "defense" we have to keep them out can get bypassed pretty easy. but something that only happens when the cord is pulled is much harder to predict, get around. for the record I am not familiar with any such system or building with it but it seems straight forward enough.

I think this could be a good idea on campuses where there are multiple buildings like you pointed out earlier. If there’s a situation in one building, lock the other ones down. That works for me.

Now maybe be able to lock down the classrooms so no one can get in during the situation and we might have something there.

Just would hope it wasn’t between classes or during lunch, but I would be okay with this.

To me, this causes the idea of a "database" to become even more prevalent. There is no need to carry such a thing to be honest. Think about a person who buys maybe once or twice in their life, but does it through a private party. It's not worth their time to apply when a "one and done" can be done through an FFL.

I'm looking at the most un-intrusive method possible to facilitate an exchange. A one time good deal where the data is destroyed in a very short time. This avoids any ID being issued, any hint of the state or federal level keeping any kind of "ID issued" database. Just a pure and simple transaction.

Basically, I'd like to revamp the entire process of how to acquire a firearm. Take the weapon's data off the 4473 and make it into a personalized process which it should be. If the BATFE needs to "track" what weapons are sold, I'd say nothing more than a dealer saying "Serial # 1234567, rifle type transferred to private party on 19 March 2018."

there is no way to only temporarily hold that information. It will be kept, or it will be able to be dug up.
