Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

Reasonable people can process more than one issue at a time.

It's like being in a leaking life boat 50 miles off shore. Everyone can see that there are multiple holes but the gun nut side steadfastly maintains that no one will ever attempt to fix their leak as long as there are other leaks.
While every one else is frantically looking for ways to fix the other leaks, the gun nuts protect their hole in the boat like it is sacred. Meanwhile the boat sinks.

Reasonable people understand that the availability of guns and type of guns isn't the problem. If it were the problem mass shootings would have been a common occurrence 30-50 years ago when it was much easier to purchase a gun. Even semi-automatic weapons.

News banner just flashed about Trump talking to Coryn and Murphy about their current bipartisan bill in the Senate on increased background checks. He is supportive of it and it sounds like he’s trying to assist them.

So if he gets it thru are you gonna give him credit for it? Or just claim too little too late why did it take so long. You know just like your boy Obama.

Banner days he's open to it.

That's real leadership there, folks.

You’re a hack cherry picking words and throwing turds.

But you also just answered the question I asked just like you answered the last one. By omission. So no you won’t give him credit.

Edit: forgot to add “read the damn article idiot!!!” for emphasis.

Before he ran he favored banning assault rifles and a longer waiting period. When he ran he was pro NRA. After Vegas, he said he supported ban on bump stocks. Nothing happened.

Now he's going to support a bill for better background checks.

Which way is the wind blowing tomorrow? He has no principles. He has no moral compass. He's been shamed into this, it's weak, and nothing significant will happen.

And you folks said you voted for him because he's not a politician.

The great majority of Americans are in favor of more stringent regulation of the sale and ownership of guns in three ways that go beyond current law in most states. U.S. adults offer near-universal support for requiring background checks for all gun purchases, backed by 96%. Also, three-quarters favor enacting a 30-day waiting period for all gun purchases and 70% favor requiring all privately owned guns to be registered with the police.

One per quarter. Also every school has every access closed but one during school hours. At high schools that access includes a manned guardhouse. In every school, entrances have been reconfigured where the only entry is through the main office. Which is also where the resource officer has his office.

Get them used to reporting to a prison while they are young, I like it.

Well, that's good. I'm glad they have an easy way of identifying the dead after another mass shooting occurs because you were too focused on the gun angle rather than all aspects of the issue.

How absurd.

But I am glad to see you come around to the side of increased taxes and government employee payroll in order to improve the safety, security, and well being of its citizenry.

My suggestion to Gallup would be to learn the law before formulating their questions.

The bill discussed incentivizes states to send info to the FBI. The WH says they want to amend it some. Gee, you think they'll make it stronger or weaker?

What are states going to send to the FBI in regards to universal BGCs?

57% of gun owners approve of a 30 day waiting period?
48% of gun owners approve of all guns being registered?

Who the f were they polling?

Say they were able to enact a 30 day waiting period. How many of those that support it would raise their hand after some battered woman is murdered by her ex while she was waiting for her gun?

Pure speculation and quite weak. The guy who is on offense and with benefit of surprise, armed with an AR 15, is quite a favorite over a guy with a handgun, even well trained. Not to mention the host of risks created by a handgun walking around a high school on a daily basis.

So handguns walk now? Who’d a thunk it. Next thing you know they will be reloading themselves.

So, current and former students and really anyone with access to a lamination machine could wander the school freely?

It seems that most of these shootings are done by current and former students.

Certainly current students can. Anyone else (theoretically at least) would have had to enter through the main office area and would be cleared (or not) at that point.

Oh look, old data again and taken immediately following Vegas. Never let a good emotional crisis go to waste for your cause. I’m beginning to think ambulance chasers like LG are more respectable than you guys.

Poll taken days after the Las Vegas shooting.

Of course the numbers are going to be skewed. Not even admitting the terrorist responsible bought everything he had legally.

Actually, the gun nuts are looking to stop the moron who keeps drilling holes in the boat.

Funny thing...

The very same people screeching for new gun control want to trust the very same Congress that has yet to act on the bump fire stocks the NRA stated needed to be reviewed:

And have they done anything? But this is Trump's fault? Your anger is sadly misplaced.

As if we don't have enough cops on the payroll as it is.

Would you rather those LEOs sit in traffic and pull you over for speeding?

Or.

Be placed in schools protecting our children?

Reasonable people know it is not the only problem but part of a long list of problems. Anyone claiming otherwise has no credibility.

That's why I used the lifeboat with many leaks analogy. Address them all.
