Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

Seems like more gun...and really more to the issue...more bullets at one's fingertips than an experienced rifle person might need to get the job done.

We certainly see the damage it can cause in a school.

Happy Hunting I guess.

What most people are eluding to in this dialog with you is the last time your points were put into play we got the federal assault weapons ban of 1994 which most firearms enthusiasts believe solved absolutely nothing yet access to certain types of weapons and weapon accessories was needlessly removed. I think it was viewed as punishing the instrument and not the user.

Thus when you bring this kind of rhetoric up again you will quickly fall on deaf ears. We’ve done that. We said it wouldn’t work. And it didn’t.

Not entirely accurate. An old urban legend of the "wound rather than kill" theory.

To expand though. What is the most common type of ammo shot thru AR15 platforms? Full metal jacket right? From the Geneva Convention why is this ammo mandated? I admit this is a guess but I thought the exact stated purpose was to remove severe maiming wounds? Unless a FMJ strikes bone it has a tendacy to go thru and remain intact thus minimizing soft tissue injury right? There is the tumble premise but I thought that was related to striking hard tissue or losing ballistic stability which occurs way down range not at close quarters?

If you’re gonna be shot you want to be shot with an FMJ instead of a hunting hollow point. Yes I’d rather just not be shot. And if you get hit in the head or heart it’s moot.

I keep four loaded mags in the house. Two .40 loaded with Federal Hydrashoks and two 5.56 loaded with Hornady PSPs. I wouldn’t want to be hit by either.

I see you're very good at posting that cool graph. But if rifles are responsible for less than 1% of gun deaths, how does that support said cool graph?

Also you seem to keep forgetting that "assault weapons" were completely legal to own during that period, there were just restrictions on production.

Now if you were to overlay "massacres" with prescriptions per person of psychotropics, I think you'd have an even cooler graph that might actually tell you something.

I’ll drop a counter picture from a link in the article above. Shows very contradictory information to your graph would you agree?

Homemade pipe bombs.

You can't legally purchase a pipe bomb. You can make one out of everyday legal components. Not the same thing.

Please answer this question. It's amazing that I have asked twice and NO ONE will answer.

What is the most deadly WEAPON a person should legally be able to purchase?

Now are you going to be the liberal that answers my question about why diversity is 'better'.

Using your logic though these everyday legal things obviously need to be banned and regulated right?

“I need 10 feet of 2” black iron pipe please”

“Sure thing just left me have you metal pipe permit number please”

This is LITERALLY the logic you are using in this debate!

My question is this....

What is the most deadly and destructive weapon that this guy should have been able to easily and legally purchase? I'm curious what the answers will be.

A flame thrower, and they're perfectly legal in many places to buy and own. Cost about as much as an AR, and are quite compact if you buy the right model. Most spray fiery death at least 50 feet. The causality rate with one of these would be much higher and more gruesome than with anything else that can be legally purchased.

I would define it as automatic, semi automatic, weapons that can be modified...

Every day I sit in the car rider line, like every other parent IN THE WORLD, and I feel like I'm playing russian roulette with his life.

It's a uniquely American feeling.

I made our kids ride the bus.

I had to take a test. I had to get a license. I have to pay insurance.

Make getting an assault weapon that difficult. Who has a problem with that?

Look, in a previous line of work, I had to be bonded to carry the standard issue Glock...

An 18 year old should not be able to go into a gun shop and buy an assault weapon, most law enforcement folks agree.

It's just common sense.

Why not? We allow them to vote and join the military.

You know it’s only a matter of time until one is used in one of these attacks.

Personally I think mass shootings are all about fear. Nothing to do with killing. That’s just a horrible byproduct.

What would be more horrible? 3rd degree burns on 50 people and changing their lives forever maybe?

The term assault rifle has been co-opted from the original intended meaning by the gun control crowd as well as the media to describe any number of weapons in existence today.

Basically, it sounds way more scary when you call an auto loading rifle an "assault" rifle than just calling it a "semi-automatic rifle" like it truly is. Or pull in the next common term "weapon of war."

Like this .22 semi-auto azzault rifle!

Why active shooter drills didn’t help in the Florida high school shooting

Why active shooter drills didn’t help in the Florida high school shooting

But no training program is effective enough to guarantee another attack like the one in Parkland, Fla., won't happen again, said Joseph A. LaSorsa, a former Secret Service agent and the CEO of the LaSorsa & Associates security firm.
When confronted by a heavily armed, determined shooter, "unless you're operating a Fort Knox, unless you have a military base — and even then the checkpoints are vulnerable — there's not much you're going to do," LaSorsa said.
"People who are hell bent on doing this, they're going to find a way," he said.

The only proper response is to eliminate gun free zones. Allow teachers and administrators with a ccw permit to carry their firearms, if they wish to.

I would love to hear your thoughts on 3D printed guns. How do you plan to stop that, Luther?
