Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

Ban assault weapons.

Make it a felony to possess an assault weapon.

Reimburse those who turn in their assault weapon(s) the full value.

A good first step.

What's an assault weapon?

Why should everyone be punished for the actions of a very few?

Again I propose putting interlock devices in every car. That will save more lives per year than any gun law ever will.

Libs wouldn’t know what an interlock device is used for.

Really? That's like me asking, what's the second amendment?

I have a 10 year old.

In a private Instagram group chat, confessed school shooter Nikolas Cruz repeatedly espoused racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic views and displayed an obsession with violence and guns.

Racism was a constant theme in the chat group, which was called "Murica (American flag emoji) (eagle emoji) great" -- a name it was given by Cruz.
The hatred he and others in the group espoused met little resistance from its active members. In one part of the group chat, Cruz wrote that he hated, "jews, ni**ers, immigrants."

Well no, because the second amendment is a written proclamation that anyone anywhere can read. I have no idea how you define "assault weapon" in your theoretical ban scenario.

I don't know what having a ten year old has to do with any of this.

And yet the victims are majority white. So what is your point exactly?

I would define it as automatic, semi automatic, weapons that can be modified...

Every day I sit in the car rider line, like every other parent IN THE WORLD, and I feel like I'm playing russian roulette with his life.

It's a uniquely American feeling.

That is who he should have shot then.

You realize the odds are far higher you're killed in a car accident on the way to and from the school than from a shooting.

Does that keep you up at night?

The walk from the school to the car is basically a hot LZ every day. I know when I've got to pick up our kids I'm going in drop leg holster and watching my corners. The kids say the spare mags on my plate carrier hurt their legs, but that's the least of their worries.

I had to take a test. I had to get a license. I have to pay insurance.

Make getting an assault weapon that difficult. Who has a problem with that?

Look, in a previous line of work, I had to be bonded to carry the standard issue Glock...

An 18 year old should not be able to go into a gun shop and buy an assault weapon, most law enforcement folks agree.

It's just common sense.

The fbi needs to get their **** together. They’re off doing the bidding of the left by investigating Russians who promote Bernie instead of focusing on known threats in America

Are you ok with an 18 yo voting or joining the armed forces?

I mean it's just common sense right?

Well, one is a law. When you turn 18 you can vote.

The other is a choice. When you turn 18 you can join the military. I have a cousin who just graduated from West Point.

I don't know what either of those has to do with allowing anyone to get a gun like the AR-15...but I'll play along.

18 is also the legal age by law to purchase a AR-15. Its fairly simple, nothing to play along with.

You’ve made the mistake of saying “assault” several times now. ARs are not assault rifles. The A&R are not an acronym for assault rifle.

Learn what an assault rifle is and the applicable laws/regulations for civilian ownership, then reframe your premise.

ARs are as much of an assault rifle as this:

You don't think an AR-15 is an assault rifle? I mean, that's what I'm talking about.
