He's established. His plan is working and he is comfortable enough in his own skin to speak his mind. I think that is a good place to be for a coach.

He’s not established here. He got fired at his last job and hasn’t made a tournament.

I agree he’s comfortable. He’s speaks about something he knows nothing about though.

Same guy. Just don’t care for those comments is all.

Apparently any comment made about Rick Barnes must be positive now. He’s reached that status here before ever making a single tournament.

And apparently, Ziti jumps in to make over-the-top hyperbolic conclusions because he is, again, standing alone in the corner with his opinion.

You look for opportunities to criticize where there are none. Save your efforts for something truly damning.

When did you ask all of them?

Showing respect for Cuonzo certainly can be heard by recruits. Especially any that are considering TN... because I guarantee that they're being educated about the ****ty BBB fans by the competing schools.

You really think an opposing coach goes into a kids house and tells that kid that UT fans want Barnes out and Bruce back?

He knows plenty about it. He's not in a bubble. Due to the nature of his position he would actually know far more about it than the message board experts ever will.

No, they re-hash the drive to BBB and the 30,000 signature petition. Ziti said that recruits wouldn't care about CRB's comments. I'm saying that they are probably aware that Cuonzo wasn't well received by the fan base while he was taking TN to the Sweet 16. CRB's comments indicate that he's not on board with the Cuonzo bashing.

Remember when I said don't go TGO? You're full TGO right now.

People disagree with you and you call them sheep and now you're going full hyperbole by taking this and saying we call can only tolerate positive comments. There is no reason for you going to that extreme.

He basically said Cuonzo is a good man and a good coach and did well here. He then said he doesn’t really know how the fanbase felt about cuonzo, and we should be appreciative of what he accomplished here.

Basically the only way he could answer any question about Cuonzo and UT

All the truth.

Barnes said respects Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin, former UT coach (2011-14): `I think he did a great job here, I really do. … I like to think people appreciated the job he did here because I think he did a terrific job.’ Martin was 63-41 and took one team to the Sweet 16.

Martin's first UT team was picked 11th in 12-team league and placed 2nd. Barnes: `I’m not sure how he was embraced. If he wasn’t truly embraced, people should be ashamed because the guy is a heckuva person, he’s a heckuva basketball coach' and a `really class guy.’

Jimmy Hyams

What is your problem with the truth? Did he not finish above the preseason projections?

Only difference is Zo got out of town before the bad year and it was coming no doubt

I'm not so sure about that.

We would have had Jaylen Brown and a grad transfer or two if Zo stayed. He was really picking up the recruitment.

Whatever man. You and the five regulars who’ve went all in on Rick Barnes disagreeing with me doesn’t mean I’m wrong in my criticisms of him.

Nothing over the top about this. I don’t care for his comments. Nothing crazy about that take. Just like my opinion that he needs to recruit better.

The only over the top is the infatuation some have with a coach who hasn’t proven anything yet.

It was implied. No need to make those comments. At all.

Yes, by you. the phrase "The lady doth protest too much, methinks" is coming to mind.

Meanwhile, you have most everyone else not even batting an eye to the comments, and the one getting worked up over it claims it's because we're sheep.

K-town - I don’t need to hear again your take on what a great coach Martin is. In case you can’t read I don’t have a problem with him saying Martin is great. That’s what coaches do. I’ve explained this several times in this thread.

I could see that during Cuonzo because he was the next coach, But Bruce has been gone for 7 years, and RB is doing a great job.

Seems silly to bring that up... Imo

I personally agree with what you're saying, but you know recruiting is cut throat. I think someone said "anything you say can and will be used against you on the court of bball."

Yet you’re more than batting an eye at my comments regarding it.

Of course you’re not mad Barnes said it. He’s untouchable on the b-ball forum right now after winning 3 straight.

You're probably right. It just seems crazy to bring that up with both UT and Auburn having solid years

Nobody cares about that petition. The kids we are recruiting were in middle school and probably don’t know it existed.
