Trump refers to immigrants from Haiti and Africa as being from s***hole countries.

Is anyone saying Haiti IS NOT a sh@@@@@@?

Please step forward.

Haiti does have a smattering of pretty nice resorts. But, like most turd world countries that rely on Western tourism, they are highly segregated from the local population and I wouldn't recommend traveling far from them or hooking up with any of the local chicks.

Is saying “3rd” world country racist? I mean that could get the ACLU after your ass if you ain’t careful. I mean does “3rd” world , infer ****hole? This is really really confusing!!!

Why do we want them here?

That depends on what they have to contribute. I would never say that we should be welcoming anyone here that isn't either well equipped to educate themselves in an institution of higher learning or immediately contribute to the workforce. Evaluate each immigrant individually. They must be qualified to work in order to stay here and we must have proof that they follow laws. I don't care where they're from. I went to school with a lazy Canadian kid who smoked dope every day. Lazy good for nothings come from everywhere.

No it’s not. They currently enjoy protected status specifically because of the state of their nation

Well, yes... when you're speaking about refugees, that's more complicated. The United States does have a history of making exceptions for them (at least in some cases).

And what is that “lazy” kid doing now?

Trump is for a merit based system. That is clear. And under that system it certainly doesn’t preclude highly skilled Haitians from coming here. But it is definitely not one in which grants permanent status to people just because they had an earthquake once. And not one that randomly selects people just because they happen to live in a ****ty country. We need a merit based system

The comment had to do with the Temporary Protected Status of Haitians and El Salvadorans. Key word is temporary.

I think he contradicted that yesterday and it's not so clear what he wants anymore.

I've never been there but I know some folks who have and they all basically say the same thing.

It's a beautiful place, the people are friendly, proud and giving.

The country has been through a lot in the last decade and as in other third world countries, government officials are often corrupt and slow to act in the best interest of it's people.

As with anywhere, there are pockets of places that one should use common sense or avoid, but as I said, it's certainly that way right here in the US.

It's laid back. Beautiful beaches...but missing in many places the modern conveniences we take for granted.

As it pertains to immigration, much has to do with those disasters and the subsequent living conditions.

No it's not a ****hole.

I have never gotten the whole third world resort thing. Why on earth would you want to go to Haiti or Jamaica to stay in a compound? Trust me on this, a beach is a beach, and I can mix a cooler full of margaritas a lot cheaper and a lot better than they make in any of those places.

Jamaica is nowhere near the same as Haiti.

Dick Durbin commenting on Trump's ****hole comments is a joke. If anyone ever needed an ass kicking it was him for his comments comparing the US military to Nazis and etc.

And Lindsey Graham is a butt happy yes man..... he's all about the flavor of the day. He's a freaking creep of epic proportions and when he's finally out of office it will be a great day
