So he was able to work on an exit for his contract yet chose to make UT wait until he finished with bama? Means your claim he respects the contract pretty ridiculous now

For one, we need a s&c coach immediately to start to transform this team. That has not been done and if the rumors are true then the current players won't do it in their own. Is he meeting with the current team, watching their tape, etc?

No. I'm sure the kids at Nebraska and recruits respect him for coaching UCF to the end. Nebraska will still be there.

Just my personal opinion, but this early signing deal puts a little wrench in things. You are committed to the team for the season, staying for a couple of weeks is understandable and not the end of the world in this business. You can still work and recruit for your new job as time allows.

Personally I would if he had done that to UT

However he was the hc and he's going back to a place where he's revered. Ours is a DC getting his first shot but he wants to continue to work for our biggest rival. The situations really aren't comparable

If you feel like that, you have no idea what he has already done at Tennessee. Do you not realize what he has accomplished with putting together his staff and the recruiting he and his staff have already accomplished? Remember, recruiting ins in a dead period for the entire amont of time he will be back with Alabama. He will be the hardest working head coach we have had in a long long time. There is a reason why players have so much faith in CJP. They like his honesty and committment and will continue to flock to him as a coach Better days are coming to the Tennessee VOLS.l

Understand what you're getting at, but...

They are both comparable. For the kids, finish what they started. When coaches leave, kids 'tend' to suffer losses thereafter a majority of the time.

Guess you could pick corn outta 'stuff' all day long, but I think for whatever small negatives there might be, there are tons more positives.

well, your ax to grind is with CPF for hiring him in the first place. You guys act as if he is coming here to destroy the program from within.

It is generally a negotiation between you, the previous/present employer and the one who is hiring you. This was all worked out in advance and with public disclosure. Nothing to get all worked up about if you ask me.

He has taken a lot from Alabama and will continue to recruit and sign players who are being recruited by Alabama. I believe he and his staff will have a very competitive team by 2020. The defense should be very goo in 2019.

No I do not believe he is coming here to destroy the program.

His lack of desire to place running the entire UT football program above the duties of a DC at a rival I find disturbing though.

Guess my views of being a Vol are vastly different that what many others on here hold.

Whether Pruitt ultimately succeeds at UT or not, it isn't going to be because he stayed at Bama a few extra weeks before coming here.

UT was talked about several times during a game everyone was watching last night, and it was actually in a positive light. That defense was lights out last night. Recruits, especially defensive recruits, may have taken notice and want to take part in something like that at UT. That's the message we can send them.

yeah, it was weird.

but i just don't care. gimmie as much of what Bama has been doing the last 10 years as possible.

and as the Bama game ended last night.....

i just kept looking at the GA and Bama rosters and realized that CJP has a pretty big hand in both of those rosters, and i started to feel a lot better.

Some of you folks discussing loyalty and whatnot need to step outside of your 'fan bubble' and look at this from the real world perspective. This is a JOB to CJP and other coaches. I know when I left my last position, I gave a month's notice so I could finish working on projects so as not to leave my coworkers or our clients high and dry. I also was still available for project related questions for many months into my new position at my current place of employment. When you work somewhere, you don't just leave and not look back - not unless you're Lane Kiffin. CJP doesn't "love" Alabama, or UT. He loves coaching football and he appears to be a man that wants to honor prior commitments before fully transitioning to UT. I'm certain this was agreed upon during his hire process, which means Fulmer is ok with it. Stop making a big deal out of something that is nothing.

You must be a $hitty worker. I have never worked at a company that encouraged me to leave.

You may need to do some self reflection....
