You have to be actually on the d-line at the LOS to leap to block a kick. IIRC the rule is if you are behind the D-linemen you can not advance past the LOS and jump. This keeps players from getting a running start and jumping. Carter was on the line and found a gap to work through. That's legal.

Not Pittman when he was here. Never thought he was overrated afterwards, just that he wasn’t the only OL coach out there like some did. Chaney didn’t have that someone to keep him from going pass happy when he was here. He wasn’t RATED at all until he was on another team...then we pined for him like we do with everyone that goes elsewhere. The VN way.

This is a much different UGA team than those. Eason injury was huge. It forced Chaney to ground and pound and manage his QB. Kirby took his lumps in year 1 by playing the better talented players no matter how young they were. They made mistakes but they learned from them and it paid off this year. Butch didn't allow the young players he needed this year to learn those lessons the last two years

You're right. If anybody had been paying attention they wouldn't be surprised at all. For all the love people on the board give him, he's accomplished zip that really matters.

He gets a ton of hype and very little results. People keep making excuses for him. The fact people use the excuse of all the starters he lost this year implies they were important to his team. Yet, all those valuable starters also achieved no championships.

He's a good coach, but nothing close to what some want to think.

I agree.. I just don't think he is a bad coach. He may not be worth his salary, but I think the next two seasons will really tell the tail. If he has another year like this next season he needs to start packing his bags. He better be competing for the Big Ten title soon, or Big Blue nation is going to go VN on him.
