To Protect and to Serve II

Then let me hear your opinion on doctors prescribing medical marijuana and opiods to otherwise healthy patients.

Not a fan. I don't have the numbers but the majority of people who develop opiate addictions began their use with a valid prescription.

I had a vastectomy in December and a tooth removed in January and was prescribed percocets both times. Neither of those procedures required the use of opiate pain medications. I was simply being set up for developing an addiction.

I actually laughed out loud at the 90% of people trusting doctors.

My kid broke her finger (teen). Dr. gave her a prescription for hydrocodone. I was like wth, no

You have no idea how police work is done. None

Who transports the mentally ill from a general hospital to a mental facility?

Who goes to unattended death scenes?

Who works accidents?

Who does traffic direction when a red light stops working or when Green Day comes to town?

Who tracks the Sex Offenders?

Who rescues people in natural disasters?

The list goes on and on.

Police work isnt just busting punks with a sack of bud (although it's so fun).

Bro...just stay safe and ignore the idiots.

I get sucked in sometimes too. Best to let them just be keyboard heros and disseminate their doctrine on a message board...dedicated to UT sports.

It's called capitalism. People should be able to freely exchange goods and services.

The only problem with the system is that a prescription is required to begin with

Traffic stops are one of the leading causes of officer deaths. Anyone who really believes blue lives matter should want to decrease the number of frivolous traffic stops (seat belts, head light out, distracted driving laws, minor speeding, not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, all road blocks/checkpoints)

"Frivolous"

Seatbelts...drive anything beyond 10mph without it on then hit a wall. You'll get the idea soon enough.

Head light...get it fixed and it's dismissed. Easy.

Distracted driving...easily as dangerous as driving drunk. Use your Bluetooth, problem solved.

Minor speeding...I don't know anyone that writes for anything under 10mph over, I'm usually 15-20 depending on the area and amount of traffic.

Complete stop...make an effort to stop. That's it. Just use common sense, if there's a lot of traffic, don't roll through the stop sign. Simple enough.

I'm not a fan of road blocks unless it's to catch a fugitive. They're completely legal, that's not my issue, I just don't think they're very effective.

Those are all the definition of frivolous.

Seat belts: only harms you, should be your decision

Headlights: The point wasn't about fines, it was about limiting stops for officer safety. Doesn't matter how easy it is to get fixed.

Distracted driving: These are some of the dumbest in existence. Because? They were already covered. It's called "failure to maintain lane". We don't need laws against cell phones or anything else because it's already covered.

Speeding: open the paper sometime. You'll see plenty for less than 10. Even then, let's not pretend like 10 over is dangerous.

Roadblocks are both ineffective and illegal. You must have reasonable suspicion to stop a vehicle.
