I once had a baptist preacher say to me that a pre tribe rapture was a statement of faith. You werent saved if you didnt believe it so.......
Then you should know that this subject has also been tackled (Argument from necessity) and as i said in a previous reply, this was already asked and answered by Jhunt. Just because you don't like the answer and are being incredulous doesn't mean it wasn't answered.I've asked this question about every way I know how. I'm beginning to think you're being intentionally obtuse. I said this several pages ago:
It seems that the answer to that question, which has not been answered, is yes (i.e. you need to prove the first cause is pure actuality).
If that's the case then Aquinas's argument, if it succeeds, tells you practically nothing.
That was my understanding as well.
Did He ever ask Israel to not speak or spell His name? i.e. Did He ask for *that* respect?
When He gave His name to Moses as YHWH and said it was to be a memorial to Israel, what did He mean?
For example.
I keep Torah to the best of my ability because G-d said it would be a blessing to me if I did. If I fail in any way theres Grace. For me Grace doesnt work without the law. The law is not a burden to me but a joy.
The law is my standard for living and Yeshua is my salvation.
If you disagree with any of that Im cool with it. Im only responsible for my own judgement not yours. And as you wont be with me when Im judged your opinion doesnt carry much weight.

His argument properly formulated must also result in only one God (read: pure actuality) as to have more than one god would mean that there would be something that must distinguish them. This is impossible as it would mean that one god had an unrealized potential (the "feature" that distinguishes between the two beings), and that is self-contradictory to what a Thomist would term God.
I wasn't judging you for keeping torah, or any way you choose to say or spell the name of the Lord. I think you misunderstand my motives. I just think the Israelites, in going beyond what God asked them to do, created some unintended consequences. I think you have some interesting and and heartfelt interpretations and I genuinely wanted your input on whether you saw a disparity between Israel taking it upon themselves to mute the name of God when he seemed to command then to remember it.
But again... it wasn't a reflection of my views on you I particular. If there was a command to remember the name, it was lost before you came along.
Peace, bro. Peace...
Im sorry if that seemed adversarial. I didnt think you were trying to play games. I feel were way past that. I just cut to what I thought you wanted to know.
I think there are 2 main problems with people who are Christian-or some version of Christian.
There are legalistic Rules keepers. Those are the ones who do a lot of the things I do but for the wrong motivation. They think there own righteousness will save them. These are the people who honor G-d with their words and actions but their hearts are far from Him. Psalms 119.
Equally as screwed are the freedom in Christ people. They Say they believe in Jesus but are steeped in sin. But thats ok because god wants them to be happy and they have freedom. These are the Mathew 7 people who will hear depart from me you workers of lawlessness, I dont know you.
It really is not easy to explain my position.
I believe that the people of G-d .....if you are G-ds people should want to and try to keep the law because you want to please G-d. But thats not what saves you. Its Grace and always has been.
The law is the standard
And Yeshua is salvation.
Thats as religious as you will ever see me get on here.
If anyone reading disagrees then Im ok with it.
Im honestly way more concerned about the plank in my eye than the speck in yours.
Yes dinosaurs existed, how can you possibly believe that the Earth is billions of years old?
I have a great history book that teaches it.
I am a Christian. I believe in God. But your belief in the Earth being 6000 years old is based on flawed information. I would love to see specific scripture that points to a date of creation.
