'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Who cares. Just some kids singing a parody song. I did worse sh*t.

Y’all are sad, so hung up on this

Who cares what you did? I sure don't. He's the one who made the Christian claims. Not any of us. He needs to get drilled for acting like a hypocrite at the very least.

Forget Tennessee football. If my kid posted something like that, he would have a foot kicking his butt thru the nearest uprights. And it would probably be his mother’s foot.

All depends, I’d bet momma would be putting her foot in the person’s butt that told her kid to break his neck, tear two acl’s and worse on social media. Any self respecting mom I know would, don’t go after the cubs.

Not defending what he said, but highly hypocritical of (some) on here and elsewhere who said the same thing to him last week. Again, not all. Some showed class and Cade should as well but I don’t think momma or daddy would be taking up for fans.

Also, not like he did it at a PC, it was private, he has to be smarter knowing nothing is kept private nowadays.

Can you imagine social media 25 years ago before PCorrectness was the rule?

Eh, apparently he wants to piss on a lot of people from where he grew up and be hated. This is just an immature child burning bridges BC he thinks he'll never need to cross some of them again. We'll see how that works out.

This loser said he was looking for a coach to make him a better man and a more Godly man. Well that appears to be a full time gig. Have fun with that Kirby. Here’s hoping Cade gets kicked out of school and ends up at ETSU.

If you're going to white knight this kid, do it with your fellow UGA fans. You're on the wrong board.

I would hope to show more respect than that but I guess us old guys just don't know honor and being respectful of others. Just wait and see what gets dug up on your social media pages when you apply for a job. If I got on social media and said a few F bombs toward a few schools, you better believe it would hurt my business. I did bad things as a kid as well and perhaps even now but I don't film it and put it up on facebook. That is stupid.

If he comes up to you and says F your mama, then that is ok because he is just 17. I know you. You would kick is every loving butt. But you wouldn't go post it on facebook.

Just let the kid live his life. It's comical to me that a message board full of keyboard heroes are going to condem this kid, when I'm sure everyone on here has numerous skeletons in their closet far worse than this.

Ah yes, erase bad behavior by pointing out bad behavior from other people. Is that what you are teaching your kids Mr. Mays? How is the check cashing business?

I never wished him to get hurt Georgia boy so go bark up another tree or sniff another dawg's butt but stay clear of mine. Crazy Georgia fans who praised the idiot who did take out Shy's knee so get off the high horse. Cade is more immature than a few 13 year olds. He wants to be treated and respected then do the same. This is so stupid on so many levels. One thing you are right about. A few guys over on our campus will remember. They will not care who is mama or daddy might be.

Clearly I am not Mr Mays, but I appreciate the narrow-minded response. The truth is jumping on a KID for living his life and singing a song is far from bad behavior. Is it stupid? Maybe. Is it "bad behavior? Nope. Does it warrant the hate it gets from a lot of you? Not one bit. On a daily basis, I'd be willing to bet, most people on this board do things far more innapropriate than that Snapchat, and on top of that he's a high school senior, not a full grown adult.

But you're missing the point. He didn't do anything worth this uproar or hate. The only reason he is getting this backlash is because you all are (presumably) Tennessee fans. Realistically none of you would care if he said this about Auburn, LSU, and Bama.

He isn't his father. He's his own person. If anything he would have to answer to his dad, if his father cares. Maybe his father is furious. Maybe his father views it as boys being boys. It's his son and he'll handle it how he sees fit. Otherwise, shouldn't have any impact on any of you other than proving he didn't want to be here, which should have been proved on NSD. Just seems like a fan base looking for further reasons to hate a kid.

There's no 'hate' on my end. I just came from the school of words and actions have consequences. Those a little younger than me with kids have babied and coddled kids up through this age, if not longer and has made these kids unbearable. Making excuses for these kids is why they grow up to be entitled punks. Acting like you are above it all is actually worse than holding these kids responsible for their actions. Hard for me to have the ole 'aw shucks' or 'kids will be kids' when I know 18 year old kids past and present getting shot at doing something way more important than chunking a pig hide around the football field. It's more than football. It's about life and teaching people respect. If you don't get that, then maybe you need to grow up and look at yourself in the mirror.
