Most people have no idea what mental illness is like, and how many people suffer (literally) from it, and how many people have it.

And I'm talking about this being separate from substance abuse, although substance abuse can allow mental illness to manifest itself, and those with mental illness are in danger of substance abuse because of the attempt to self-medicate the symptoms with drugs and alcohol.

Since the VA doesn't make people have insurance to be treated (as long as they are eligible veterans), we see a lot of MH/SA cases. I do think our population has a higher rate of these issues than does the general population, because of the military and combat experience, but I also think that it is way undertreated in the private sector due to the abysmal state of health insurance for mental and emotional issues. Most people out there suffer in silence, or appear on the 6 pm news for one thing and another.

50 mg Zoloft myself

I am genuinely gracious for the depth of description that you have provided.

I'm relatively familiar with the 2 conditions. Maybe more in experiance, than study.

Forgive me for being dense, but..is there any example of these two horrible things manifesting in the same person in academic record?

This is beyond my education level. I would think that it is entirely possible. You could have someone who is genetically predisposed to schizophrenia, who suffered chidhood abuse, triggering MPD/DID, and then the schizophrenia manifested itself in late adolescence or early adulthood. But that's just me saying sure, I can see it happening. For this question, you need someone trained in the field, and that's not me. I just know how to interpret the writings of the professionals.

At some point, when this all gets too miserable for you to deal with, you will have to go talk to someone. And it might be more than one someone --two, three, five, or ten, before you click. But I do think that you need to have a trained outsider to help you deal with the tumult inside your head.

And as you know, nothing will change until you take this action. It can't be imposed from outside.

Serotonin re upper.

I’m not even going to pretend to offer advice about anyone’s mental health. I do, however, occasionally take 5-htp. It’s an OTC supplement and pre-cursor to serotonin. I learned about it back in my raver days of serotonin depletion.

I'm not asking about me. I'm not that crazy.

I just want to try something extremely ambitious.

Ape? If this is drug ensued paranoia then take a nap. If this is something you have long dealt with, then stop the drugs and seek therapy. This ain't mild depression here.

Everyone here likes to joke about this, but this is complete truth.

When there is a serious, disabling psychiatric condition going on, drugs and alcohol only serve to confuse the issue and make it harder to figure out what is going on, and harder to seek help.

In the initial, acute phases, ETOH/drugs might make you feel better for an hour or 8, but they confuse the hell out of things and often make them much, much worse.

This isn't preaching. This is just the equivalent of telling an uncontrolled diabetic that right now, that Baby Ruth ain't what you ought to be eating right now. Maybe one day, a bite or two, but not now.

Welp I'm going home. Being with the G kids made me happy. The last year has been rough , but all I have to do is see her and my problems are gone. I'll stop with the mush , Talk to you guys and ape later. Lol

I see you've taken entirely too much MDMA.

When I told my therapist I had been using cocaine he immediately prescribed Zoloft. I have been trying to ween myself off of it, but you get brain shocks when you stop taking it. Very uncomfortable. And irritable as hell.
