D4H's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Best Picks, Best Drafts, and Predictions)

If you tried to argue Warren Sapp is the best pass rusher of all-time, then the fact he played inside would become a factor. But DT and DE are different positions and judged different. Bosa is a DE. Its widely considered that the premier pass blockers are the LTs. The fact he goes against mostly right tackles makes his sack numbers less impressive than guys who go up against left tackles all the time.
He put on the left side because he’s better against the run than Ingram. JJ Watt plays on the left side too and he was considered the best defender in football when healthy

JJ Watt plays 3-4 DE. The fact he's an elite pass rusher from the 3-4 makes him one of the greatest anomalies in NFL history.

Its an insult to JJ Watt to compare him to this guy.

What about winning defensive rookie of the year playing only 12 games. Is that not impressive to you?

How long long does he have to go putting up 12+ sacks a year before you admit he’s proven to be a great player and worthy of the 3rd overall pick?

Hell I wasn’t sure how he would translate to the league I thought maybe he was a picked a little high but so far he has been a fantastic pick for the chargers. Not to mention he’s produced at a very high level since high school to think he’s gonna end up like rg3 is laughable at this point. Hell his “luck” would have already ran out. I garuntee you he’s already the main guy the offense tries to stop every week

Longer than 2 years.

I've said he's another Aaron Kampman. That guy also had 2-3 pro bowl seasons with a ton of sacks then was irrelevant the rest of his career.

Keep this up for longer than Aaron Kampman and then I might start to respect him.

The only reason Kampman didn't do more is because his body fell apart after he turned 30.

For the love of God man it took Kampman 5 years to pull off the kind of season Bosa did in 12 games as a rookie.

And this "I'm going to name a player and make a comparison pulled from so far up my arse it triggers a gag reflex." just looks dumber every time it's invoked.

Reggie White piled up a ton of sacks primarily playing strongside DE...Clyde Simmons better than him? HOF taunted? Read it on here first

LOL!!!! So you were putting Kamara in the HoF at less than half a season based on YPC with limited touches, especially by NFL standards, but somehow after 2 near full seasons, Joey Bosa is still just getting lucky because he isn't rushing the left side? An NFL right tackle is no slouch and judging a guy based on rushing that side is just a lack of OL knowledge on your part and that's a FACT! No one here is shocked by that at this point but it's just the truth.

Just admit you're wrong. Back to back 10 sack seasons.

That's called projecting. Its the same way I was able to say Alvin Kamara would be a Hall of Famer before the draft.

I've already admitted I was wrong about Dak Prescott. I've not tried to take credit for ranking Carson Wentz the #1 QB in my 2016 rankings because I really didn't think he would develop into a superstar QB.

So contrary to what some are trying I do admit when I'm wrong. I just simply don't believe in Bosa and Goff even after 2 years based on my eye test. We'll see what happens over time but unlike Dak and Wentz who passed my eye test, those two haven't.

I know this will come as a shock, but Alabama has the 2nd most pro bowlers this year after having the most last year.

Th same Alabama who D4H notoriously thinks never has any good NFL players.

10%er at it again.

It's called dumb is what it's called. Calling someone a Hall of Famer before the draft or even in the first couple of seasons is just dumb. Kinda proves you haven't watched enough football honestly. You claim to not be about stats but you're holding AK to the HoF based on YPC really but guess what .. the HoF really comes down to stats. I used to work with guys who voted on it and I know the process which involves a beat writer for the team you had the most impact with having to nearly sell your career to the committee to get you in the top 15 and they narrow it down from there. It's all about stats and for a RB especially and you are comparing AK to a guy whose stats are eye popping with over 19k yards from scrimmage and 136 TDs. AK needs a lot of touches between now and when he hangs up the cleats to get a yellow jacket and in that time if he isn't cranking around at a minimum of 12k yards from scrimmage and 70 total TDs, it won't happen. He needs touches, plain and simple.

I'm starting to think 10% is being generous. I mean, even when he is right, it's drowned out by some of the more ludicrous homer statements he makes.

80 something guys make the pro bowl nowadays. The designation isn't that important.

All-Pro is now the thing I pay attention to.

Only a few months ago he thought coaching didn’t matter thought butch’s highly rated recruiting classes would result in a championship no matter what so no he hasn’t been watching football long

My 2 cents, as someone who follows the NFL closely (but is humble enough not to create a new thread for each thought I have):

I also don't trust Goff, he still has a long way to go.

Hunt is pretty good, but not star quality. He's not as good as people thought he was early in the year, and he's not as good as Kamara.

Bosa is a very good player. I also saw some people I trusted (not D4H) that thought he'd be a bust, but he's been very good since he's entered the league and looks like a perennial Pro Bowler.

Just saw that Fournette wasn't on the list. What the actual f***. Never "scout" players again, lol. That guy is a freak and has been since he got to LSU.

Dobbs over Deshaun Watson? Conner over Mixon? Matt Breida and Perine over Fournette? Lattimore nowhere in the top 10 CBs when he's the best one? Jesus.

Kamara was a good call, Cohen is like Sproles, Engram is good but people knew that. Not much else to like at this point. And there aren't like 100 Pro Bowl talents in any draft.

I really like Corey Davis too, but I don't think he's anything like Jerry Rice. Much more Dez Bryant to me; I've seen some TO comparisons but TO was way stronger.

This can be changed to Kamara at anytime. Like Aaron Judge, Kamara won't maintain this level of play.

Kamara is a star. He's not going to get this production with this few touches, but there's no reason to think he can't handle more. He's pretty strong and his balance is ridiculous; the first guy almost never brings him down.
