Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

There is evidence for, and makes sense to me, the universe is a closed manifold, with no “beginning” or “end”. It simply closes back in on itself. Trying to comprehend the “beginning” of time itself is a futile exercise and doesn’t make sense anyway. Space and time are the same fabric of the universe. So there can’t be a “beginning” or “edge” of space too.

No need for a creator, and no need to explain how something came from nothing and illogically stopping the infinite regress at a “prime mover”.

So would you contend that your opinion on this matter holds mire weight than say a well respected, world renowned physicist?

No need to explain? So, in a sense, you are implying that we should stop trying to learn as much as we can about how everything came to be? That we should abandon the scientific method and classify this as scientific fact even with zero evidence to support it? Hmmm, so we should just take it on faith that your theory is correct? Interesting.

I'd like to believe you, I just don't have the FAITH.

Here’s the the difference, your faith is untouchable and mine isn’t. I can name a number of things that would immediately make me change my position. There are a number of other theories even that make me not believe what I said as a certainty.

Answer this, what evidence would it take for you to believe there isn’t a creator, and even more specific, there isn’t a God, and even more specific the God you may or may not believe in? What piece of evidence would it take to get you to fundamentally believe otherwise?

It’s easy for me. I can name a any number of things it would take for me to believe there is a creator. It would be simple, very simple in fact.

That is the difference in the faith you have, and the “faith” I have. My believe is falsifiable.

Negative. I’m simply saying in a closed manifold there is no need for a beginning. Nothing more. If the theory I laid out required a beginning, then yes, further explanation is absolutely required.

My point was that belief for or against a creator is, in the end, based on faith.

There is less evidence for your theory than there is for the existence of a creator.

There is a God because Israeli is proof that God exist.

I've often asked atheists, if there is no "God", then why have the Jews been singled out for such special persecution, seemingly since time began?

Let me share what I believe. God is real and so is Satan. As God's chosen people, Satan has influenced the Godless to persecute and condemn the Jews. To this day, there are many nations and people that unjustly condemn Israel. Iran routinely talks of destroying Israel and the UN is mute and so are western liberals.

Religion serves the explanation of the inexplicable and the consolation of the inconsolable.

Faith is the rationalization that such beliefs have purpose.

In truth, we are surrounded by nouns and everything else is but opinion.
