But wait, theres more, only a UT could this happen....from Austin Price on VQ
Obviously things have went quiet this afternoon. Ive heard from a couple of sources that in Tennessees talks with Jeremy Pruitt, the potential of adding Hugh Freeze to his staff came up. The few people I spoke with said that it wasnt shot down but there were definite reservations. Just something we are chasing this evening.
Obviously there is some chatter of an afternoon mystery candidate out there. We will keep digging to see if that is real and who it might be.

If Pruitt does indeed want to be our coach, he needs to be here ASAP. Screw letting him stay and coach the playoff, if he wants that he needs to stay.
Guys at this point, youre just going to scare off more recruits and potential coaches. If it is Gruden, you may even make him balk on this. Lets just calm down and give it through the night. Let Phil do his job. You havent even given the guy a freaking week yet...
You got an new AD in a position hes never been and youre making him make this kind of decision in less than a week? You guys gave Currie more time than this... how is that fair?
No offense (to many), but I don't see the cause for all the Beaver hate. The dude is not a magician.
If you don't understand why "these guys don't miss" and "done deal" were both reasonable statements at the time they were made, then I suggest going back to XX-XXIX.
The statements were always made with a view towards optimism and confidence. If you don't have both, you're never going to get a deal done. This is no different than sitting down at a poker table and believing that (1) you can't win and (2) you aren't lucky. If that's the case, just hand your money evenly to the other players at the table and go enjoy the dinner show.
Put that together with what AV said regarding not being able to just throw money at someone. If the guys put a deal together that complied with the terms and requests of the (any) whale, but were ultimately told "no" then there's no blame on the deal makers. You can't do more than make an offer that meets expectations, and hope the other party agrees. What would you expect, kidnapping and coach slavery?
To insinuate that Beaver didn't have a part in all this is ignorant (see, troglodyte). To believe he's a basement dweller is like leaving too many pegs on the triangle game at Cracker Barrel (ignoramus).
Did it play out the way he (we) wanted? Not yet. Does that mean he was fabricating everything? No.
Keep your d*mn vitriol to yourselves. We don't need that mess around here.
Beaver doesnt nothing but stirs the pot and wants to create controversy. He claims his aim was for us to have ridden HOH from its powers, continues to claim weve done that, yet still b1tches about the current administration. He is a nobody, and had zero relevance on our most recent revolt, other than being a contributor like the rest of us.
I'm in Florida and local sports talk radio guys(all UF grads) say they are more worried from a fan standpoint if we get Pruitt. They believe he will strike fear into other fan bases like they haven't seen in a while. He did add even with his contacts in Tennessee that no one has any clue as to who PF is leaning to.

I agree with his tweet about Miles. I wanted Miles. Why? He was one of very few coaches that wanted to be here. Plus his agent is not Sexton. We continue to chase coaches that dont have interest.
