If anything we should all take away from this thread, search and message board is that we truly have no insiders that have first hand or reliable information when it comes right down to it.

Even the big names on TOS or our philanthropist booster here don’t know anything with certainty at all.

What is your point about my treatment of the "these people don't miss" statement? I don't get it. I've maintained, throughout, that that statement (and the "done deal" statement) were 100% based in a game theory approach to the situation.

I also believe that Beavers primary intention was never to get Gruden (although that was certainly on the table and a likely secondary intention).

And, if you are admitting that equally valid extremes exist, then you have slipped into the crevasse of the logical absurdism. When you have opposite premises in logical proofs, you can insert any conclusion and maintain validity.

In this case, I think the only reasonable belief to form is one in the middle. You are welcome to take a side on an extreme, but admitting the equal likelihood of competing premises is a dangerous road.

You have a lot of assumptions on someone’s motives who has never concretely explained their motives - and to the degree they have, only happened after their initial premise started looking very likely to fail.

You’re insistent on a gray area existing and dismissing those who say Beaver is nothing but a troll. You’re also saying that my belief that there is equal validity in their stance is logical absurdism? There is literally zero evidence to favor your assumption over those that believe he’s taking everyone for a ride. In fact, those that say he is a troll have much more evidence (both by his predictions not happening and general precedence of trolls existing in FAR greater numbers than insiders online).

What’s absurd is taking everything someone says under the guise of anonymity as gospel, watching their soothsaying prove false, allowing them to remedy their predictions to suit a current climate, then reshaping history under your own personal interpretation of said person’s words and motives. Just as you seem to think my insistence on extremes is dangerous, so is assuming your own narrative of a third party’s intention as being the only reasonable take. Beaver has had ample opportunity to spell this out for people when it’s blatantly obvious there’s no concise, agreed-upon Road-map for this userbase to follow for all of his implications. You’re assuming clarity in a maze of smoke. Many here see smoke and think fire. They’re just as right as you are.

That was his stated purpose after it started looking less and less likely that Gruden was coming. You’re very eager to dismiss the “these people don’t miss” type statements as being more broad, or indicative of intention, than you likely should be. Likely because you want to believe him. And again, I fully get that. I wanted to believe him too, but whereas you approached his arrival with cautious optimism - willing to use reason (and you seem very reasonable) to justify his statements and overall narrative to fit some larger momentum in something we will very likely never know true, concrete details of - I approached his arrival with skeptical optimism (in the sense that what he was saying, I wanted said result but wouldn’t truly allow myself to believe what he was implying about himself and role).

It can be one or the other. It can also be a gray area like you said. But I was merely pointing out that extremes do exist in the situation and given what we’ve been given, one extreme is just as valid as the other at this point.

The reality with "these people don't miss" that you are overlooking is that it can't be said with a certainty that they have missed yet. I haven't seen a post by AtlantaVOL in quite awhile and I do know a lot of big boosters are working on the Gruden deal.
