If he wants to end up at Bama, he better win a title here, so that's fine by me.
He is a Bammer, but people are crazy if they think Pruitt won't be all in at UT. He wants to win, if he wants another job like Bama, then he has to win big, so that's fine by me.
Another thought: He has seen Tennessee at it's best, played in Neyland when it was working and we whipped them. That means, unlike the last 3 guys, he knows what has and can happen at UT and that this isn't an expansion team and he doesn't need to build anything, but needs to build ON 125 years. May mean nothing, but at least he has been around on the other end when UT was a power.

Matches what others have heard. Never got a definitive No from JG yesterday. And yesterday was the deadline. So pursuit of others obviously ramped. And they seem ready to move on with Pruitt or whoever having never gotten the response of No (which inherently means no "yes"). Hopefully JG doesn't bother showing up at any more games if he took it that far and every demand/counter was met to then not respond...and keep going about his other business.
I am afraid so. I think a big part of the problem is that the temporary euphoria we all felt last Friday may have masked how deep the issues in the AD and booster structure are. Make no mistake it was significant and we are moving the right direction but like it or not many coaches dont want to get tied up in this mess. We dont even know how long Coach is going to be the AD. Im not going to give the pep talk as it is up to each of you going forward.
Don't we have several recruits coming for visits this weekend? Would be really bad NOT to have a coach for them to talk to. Worse yet, if they meet the coach and have no idea who he is.
It appears JG simply did not respond according to those on VQ....but they believe the deadline passed and we have moved on.

So we matched every counter and he just failed to respond? He wont coach again if he truly flirted that much and then acted that way. What a load of crap. Pruitt and an elite staff will be just fine.
BTW, apparently on the Dan Patrick show, even Patrick said today if it was that close with Gruden then the big $ boosters do what it takes so Fulmer can close the deal. I didnt hear so I cant validate, maybe someone else can?

Been keeping the faith since about 1979...'bout out'a faith.
I don't need Gruden. I don't need National Championships. I need for the people in charge, to value this program as much as I have since I was a child.
All I wanted was for them to reach a little bit, to try and put us on equal footing with the teams I think we should be competing with. I wanted the Orange Pride re-instilled into the program.....not sure a Bama DC will be able to adequately communicate our history and the Maxim's to new recruits. All of that has been extracted from the program. We put the one guy in charge that I thought would emphasize doing that, and he seems completely disinterested in doing so.
IMO we are in rebuild mode, not Championship mode. Hopefully I eat crow for that.
I just don't understand the wait to announce the HC or at least let the floodgates open with leaks if it is done. Maybe they are worried about backlash again.
